Cartoon Network is not related with Adult Swim at all meaning. it is actually a seperate network they just share a channel, they technically have no claim to it at all. 
I still hope for the day that adult swim leaves cartoon network and becomes it own channel, and shows all its old gems again because it has the time too, but that will never happen.
