I met my first girlfriend on December 22 1994 (after being sick the day before and sleeping for 18 hours straight), asked her out on December 24, went on a pre-date on the 28th, on our first actual date on Sunday January 1, saw her topless that Friday (first naked boobs ever!), broke up shortly after her birthday, got back together within a week, had sex the first time on Tuesday, February 14 1995 (first BJ, then grilled cheese for lunch, then sex), broke up again the next day, got back together within a week, had sex three times in one day (didn’t finish any of them), had sex the next week in March, broke up just before Easter, got back together a month later this time, had sex once, then again on August 14 1995 before she broke up with me outside the Pizza Hut Express in Pompton Plains New Jersey the morning/afternoon on Friday, August 25, 1995, for the fourth and final time. I then had a date on June 9, 1997. I was 21, it was a blind date, she turned out to be 16… I found out halfway through dinner, and after we were finished eating I drove us over to my friend’s house that set us up, explained it to him in private, drove his cousin home, and then drove her home and called it a night.
Then on November 6, 2007, after returning from my first trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, I drove home a very drunk poker player, and had sex with her on the morning of the 7th (didn’t finish again because my back gave out). I asked her out on a date for the next Friday, found out how crazy she was, and didn’t ask her on a second date. She stopped talking to me completely a month later, until I bumped into her at a casino at the opposite end of the state from where we live, and had some uncomfortable words… she really is nutty…
Yeah, that sums up almost everything but the girls who lead me on and stood me up in high school…

Listen, I had for a moment what you have, a keen memory about events that just got further and further into the past… things that it shouldn’t be right to remember just by virtue of being so obsolete. Yeah, it makes you feel a bit creepy, and if only there were some way to just get over it all. I think I found that way and got myself out of creeperville, so I’d like to suggest it…[indent]You’ve got all the dates down clearly in your head, so you can do the math to-the-day of how long you were together.[/indent]I counted the days with my ex, and ever since I got that number, I’ve been more comfortable forgetting everything else about that time. Okay, I know we were together for ___ days, so I don’t need to remember how many months or years it was. And I don’t need to remember anything specific that we did in that time, as I can probably guess. That number is a free pass to open the rest of your mind, an innocent number that would be an insult to the time you spent if forgotten (but makes it safe for you to forget everything else).
I don’t blame this forgetting on having a duller memory than you, no, I could probably recall more if I set my mind to it, but while remembering that number I don’t have to set my mind to anything related to that past. I don’t need to recall it like you’ve done now, which only fosters the memory. In fact, now that it’s on the forum here, you’re free to let it all slip away since you can recover it if you ever really need to.
(Okay, so I still remember her social security number, but that’s just an example I’ve recalled from time to time to represent how much I used to remember about her. I’ve forgotten the days of events, the months, and even most years. If I remember anything about anywhen with my ex, it’s a vague time of year, and that’s just by virtue of being in college at the time.)
I think I remember her so well because so little has happened since. It would be nice to be with more than one woman more than once.
