Just as, why would i skin my desktop with flashy themes when im satisfied with the default one?

I suppose it might be fine for now, but if you ever want to play exotic file types you often have to jump through hoops to get them working with WMP, whereas players like foobar2000 and winamp are easy to modify.

I listen to MP3’s, WAV’s and watch movies.
Don’t start me on Foobar or other not-worth-the-effort media players.
I don’t need anything fanciers then a ‘Playing Now’ feature.
Something iTunes is still to add.
WMP was all I ever need since 95.
Couldnt agree more with that, and to the guy that said earlier “exotic file formats”. Dude, ever heard of Klite Mega Codec Pack???
Actually the only other media player i have is the Deli2Player used for when i listen to the REAL oldschool file formats, other than that i only WMP

I always use WMP, and if it can’t play something I play it with VLC. If VLC doesn’t play it, something’s wrong with the file. It’s that simple. VLC plays pretty much every file out there. Even MOD music files such as XM.
I really like the new Star Trek:
WMP is bloatware. Foobar2000 is simple, easy and light, and does the job just as well as anything else.
Winamp for music, and syncing my iPod. VLC for video’s, and misc files. Then there’s the odd occasion where I just whack on LastFM radio and let it shuffle

VLC is gay since they did the redesign, it’s slower and less compatible, I use media player classic because there is no effort required, it’s just one exe that I carry from PC to PC, also I use winamp because it’s the fastest music player around, I can skip songs as fast as I can and it plays them all instantly.

I downloaded winamp, and to be honest, I didn’t like it. Sure you can skin it and stuff, but that didn’t appeal to me.
I’m sticking with iTunes.
For videos I usually use VLC, but recently WMP decided to hijack the .avi format, and so I’ve used that because I can’t be bothered to change it back.
