False impression of getting more performance.
Theory #1: maybe Coll runs some applications that require more raw power than his CPU can provide, hence the classic skin, you simply don’t get more performance out of it because your PC is never maxed out.
Theory #2: the purely psychological aspect of the skin, coll doesn’t care that aero glass doesn’t slow down his computer, he uses it because his brain finds the familiar '98 theme more comforting.
Reason: No skin since Classic from 95 has ever looked at nice as it does.
Plus, Aero Themes crashes now and then when I run demanding 3D applications, so I also chose classic because it didn’t use it.
But mainly for the reason it looks so much better then any other theme.
But Aero turns off when you use 3D applications…
