Hey, Firetime, what do you use to change the login background?

Win7LogonBackgroundChanger
-or-
winBubbles
-or-
Logon Editor - Beta

Got any reservations about what images to pick? Whenever I try choosing a detailed image, like a good photograph, it downscales the quality alot

The problem is that the image must be no larger than 256kb is size and in .jpg format. So if you are using another program and the file size is larger and 256 or is of the wrong format the program will convert and reduce the quality for you. Often these programs use very crappy downscalers so your best option is to create the correct image using your favorite editor.

Also if possible it helps to select an image that doesn’t have very sharp edges. Doesn’t have to be a blurry color splotch but more of a soft feeling to the image.

Right, ta’, I’ll try that
.

Many thanks brodog.

I used photochop to resize my image down, still looked sheet :frowning:

idk, try another program. (not photoshop but one of the easy login changers)

Yeah, I’m trying the one from DA as we speak

edit: huhuhu, refuses to save resulting logon screens :hmph:

editedit: Yeah, it works now, still rubbish quality. Only one I;ve not tried is bubbles, but now, I’m kinda cba

Yeah I used the DA one, didn’t try bubbles, the first one didnt save the picture at high res and proceeded to stretch it, so that was a no go.

Result though.
