Pink HL2

I’m sorry about the MASSIVE recropost, but I’ve been awfully busy. Besides, I was offline on Steam for nearly two weeks due to studies and homework; today, however, I decided to take a break and progress through EP2, and bumped into the new UI, which of course lags me into high heavens. I guess this means I’ll get to be on Steam even less now, but I’ll try to work more on this, I swear!

I already tried recoloring the citadel, actually, but I gave up on it because I couldn’t find the right textures. I’m dumb, I know :frowning: I’ll keep trying though.

Now, a small update for you.

Hunter-Chopper Bomb

I think I’d installed this simple recolor a long time ago, but I had forgotten about it. Just came across it today while playing EP2. They look so cute!

LOOK MA THERE ARE BALLS COMING FROM THE SKY

Waiting to be picked up and thrown around…

Lookin’ good (and purplish)!

And things went a bit awry near the end…

Look at her, staring indifferently at my suffering :frowning:

Now, back to the game, and then time to recolor some more things  Thanks for the support, guys, I really appreciate it!

I just oticed the heart on teh grav gun.

I (think) found them pretty easy. I’ll go see if I can find them for you.

Edit: Okay, that was easy. They’re in hl2\materials\Metal, in the “Source Materials” GCF.

Edit 2: They all have the Citadelmetalwall prefix.

I believe she’s looking for the CC files, amirite?

Yeah, those are the ones I edited, but when I went ingame they didn’t change… I started Our Benefactors to check the citadel textures, and they were still blue. I’m started to get pissed about this now :frowning:

I DEMAND PINK VORTS!

You should change the color you see on the screen when you die from red to pink. And I mean REALLY BRIGHT pink.

Try editing materials/metal/combinewall01, It’ll either be combinewall or combinemetal.

It’s 077a, I believe.

Yeah, that is precisely the file I edited to no avail. I also tinkered with the files in the Combine_Citadel folder, and nothing happened. Maybe my game is borked…

I’ll test them for you if you like, seeing as my HL2 & episodes are fine.

Hmm, there’s a materials/metal/metalwall077a.vtf which clearly looks like the normal combine wall, but there’s also materials/metal/combine_metalwall077a.vtf which is the same texture but with most of the detail whited out. I think they might both be used in conjunction.

Yeah, I edited both of them but there were no changes. Dunno really, guess I’ll keep trying until they work out…

I thought it was citadelmetalwall077a.

There’s no shortage of variants according to hammer.

Well I guess I’ll have to get some help for that one… Darn citadel, rawr :frowning:
Now, time to post something (sorta) worthwhile!

Buckets

Yay! Something small, but I love recoloring this kind of small things. Thanks to Door and Rabidmonkey for helping me find these textures… They were pretty well hidden :’(

As you can see, I didn’t recolor the paint splatter. I tried, but it didn’t work, so I guess I’ll leave it like this.

Find the hidden bucket!

I found some interesting things to recolor in the props_junk folder, so hopefully I’ll get some more things to pinkify during the next few days

They’re so awesome, I’m glad I suggested you did the plastic bucket.
Valve are damned messy with their skins though, it had half of the recycling bin stuck on it.

OMG PINK BUCKETS EVERYWHEERREEEEE

WHAAAAT the paint on the wall isn’t pink!

aah about pink who knows this video?
