Pimp your...

well ok, I guess there’s no point in going into why i think that’s a poor reason to buy something

so, how’s it turning out? :stuck_out_tongue:

Those speakers I ordered before couldn’t be deliver before half way April, so I decided to cancel the order and go for these:

Received them today and they are amazing. Expensive, but amazing. Might not have a subwoofer, but the bass and volume on these things is insane.

And I ordered this beauty here after playing one last week:

Was looking to get a Gibson SG, but the price-tag didn’t justify the mediocre sound it produced. The Fender here cost 1/3 of the what the SG was going for and sounds and feels a lot better.

My housemate had those for a while, he just got new speakers. He’s on the floor above me, I can certainly support the bassy and loud claim :stuck_out_tongue: Amazing considering their form.

Overpriced Bosé is almost a pleonasm.

On the topic of audio, these just arrived:

Commence burn-in!

Well I found out I can use it as a media remote, which makes it pretty handy if I’m going for a walk but otherwise it’s pretty useless.

Personally, I love the SG and have never cared for the Jaguar, even the ones from the 60’s. A double neck SG like Jimmy Page uses would really be nice.

Problem with SGs (and Gibson in general) is that for a great SG or LP or whatever model they’re updating these days, you’ll have to look at the higher price ranges. They just can’t seem to do “budget” guitars right, and I really can’t be arsed forking over $2000 or more for a guitar, not even a Gibson.

I had tried a couple of $800-1000 SGs at the store but they all sounded muddy and way too loud at a clean setting. I also tried a $300 Epiphone SG that actually sounded better than the Gibson SG (but didn’t like the feel of the neck on that one).

In the end it was a tie between that $500 Blacktop Jaguar (Mex) and a classic reissue $1000 Jaguar HH (USA), but since I already own a classic Jazzmaster (replaced the stock pickups with vintage spec Curtis Novak’s)

Can’t wait for it to arrive and if for some reason the sound doesn’t match up to the expectations I had after playing one, I’ll simply get a set of new pickups for $90 and still have an insanely good sounding guitar for 2/3 of the price of the cheapest Gibson \o/

Also, I’m a sucker for surf, hence my love for the Jazzmasters and Jaguars.

I use to own a '65 SG Jr and a '69 Goldtop Les Paul. Since you love surf, have you ever had a Mosrite in your hands?

Did have one in my hands, but sadly didn’t get to play it.

It’s also not something I’d consider buying due to the massive price. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one for less than $2500.

A Mosrite plays like no other instrument on the planet. They are expensive but they should be viewed as an investment because theywill continue to rise in price. My 69 Goldtop w/P90s would probably be worth around 10k today if I still had it.

Started playing Age of Empires Online yesterday, which inevitably led me to this:

Fuck yea

Is AoE:O any good ?

I never pimped it, got here a few weeks back;

But more importantly, check the top right for MY BITCHIN’ TEDDY BEAR TOWEL OH YEAAH

I got mine about two day after you got yours :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s alright, but it ain’t no AoE II. It sort of plays like II, but I don’t particularly like the art style and just like standard F2P’s, you gotta pay to get all the features. Plus, it won’t work on my netbook :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha, sweet :3

man, i want that as a poster

This is hands down the most advanced pocket sized device I ever owned.

Me wants.
