Did you end up going for the GD65, or was it the CD53?

the Mainboard I ordered looks nearly the same but for AMD :

i7-920

Corsair Dominator 6gb 1600MHz

Gigabyte x58 Extreme

Enermax Revolution 1250W

I win. :freeman:

No you don’t. You spent way more money and the i5 750 wins out over the 920 in pretty much every real world application.
More money + Less performance = Lose

slight win for my set up.

Software

Dead tie overall in worldbench ( test of most major windows/desktop utilities )

I draw less power, generate less heat, and have a nice overclocking mobo for a way lower price.
:3

Shit.

nvm…

Anyone wanna give me a copy of left 4 dead?

no

please? I’ll be your best friend.

I might grab a Core i5 750 at some point, looking very nice in the benches there. Only problem with that is I have to get a new mobo and RAM too…

And I’m supposed to be saving.

My total for mobo, i5 and ram was $500, I did get some speedy ram though, and you can find cheaper motherboards then that.

GD65, with the 1600 ram.

Screw you all, the Q6600 is still legendary.

The E4500 Pwns all.

Mine runs at the same speed as a E8600 which is right up there on that chart with all them core i7’s.

Max, you said you had the i5 at 3.2 ghz ish right? What kind of heatsink did you have, and what would you recommend. I’m hoping for something in the ‘it’s just a heatsink and I don’t want to spend too much, but still something good’ kind of range.

How about the half-life1 anthology?

That was with the stock heat sink. The one I’m getting I think fits your description. It’s the Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus. If you can’t afford the 40 bucks for that one the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 is a bit cheaper but still good enough.

That’s with the stock heatsink? Well, I’m going to be pressing the fuck out of that overclock button.

Fuck that shit, stop being lame and buy me a game!

stop being a loser and get a friggin’ job.

Full time student right here. I cant buy shit until my loan comes through. So, no.
