I just saw three parked down the road the other day and then it just struck me - I fucking want one, and I gonna assemble it myself. Hell, so much joy for a 3k discount. It’s like lego when you were 9 year old.
Already started looking into it and registered for membership.

If it’s OPEL, it’s shit. Americans make good chassis - like, once in 5 years. Viper, corvette, high-end cadillacs - those are decent.
But then, you have to cash out.
And then there’s interior and exterior. We used to make fun out of parked C6 Corvettes - you come around the back, push with the trunk lid with a finger, let go - and it fucking wobbles. Thank you, mister Clarkson, it works.
And it’s performance is not what you’d call perfect, unless you really cash out and buy z06. It’s more like “HURR DURR 6L v8 MASSIVE TORQUE WHEELSPIN ARRRRRRRRRR”.
But then again, this is what you get for 50k pounds. The only free cheese is in the trap.

Caterham, however, is a sweet little exception. 2L sounds like not much, but weight and brilliant chassis with perfect weight distribution make it fabulous. PLUS fuel efficiency.
Of course, as a spartan, you get literally nothing inside, but do you REALLY need a radio with such a brilliant noise?

You get a heater, and that’s more than enough. Nothing to hog your fuel away. Seats are awesome, you can drive for eternity sitting in those. And trunk is much spacier than one can expect. If it’s not enough, you can order wide body SV kit.
And you can customize it however and whenever you want. Want to go on a track day - you can get an extra roll bar (like it’s ever gonna rollover, riding this low), sports suspension and 4 point seats for your roadsports. Just change the parts, tune your engine, get the windscreen out and you’re ready to roll. And it’s not the whole story.

Caterham 7 Roadsports, whatever spec, is worth every penny invested. Fucking bargain.

Correct. High amounts of power + Poor chasis = Severe power on understeer

The main factor in that is the understeer. Understeer kills all fun behind the wheel.

Are you sure you are not talking about oversteer? Unless it’s a front wheel drive car, which corvette isn’t.

Understeer occurs when there’s no sufficient traction in the front. Or when there’s too much traction in the rear. Or it is a default when you have a front wheel drive hot hatch, haha. Balance is a bitch to get right.
Oversteer however, can be a total bitch too.

No, i do mean understeer. When the chasis can’t handle the speed and turning at the same time. The front wheels fail to find the grip.

Right. But can be cured with really hard breaking to shift the gravity to the front, but then again - poor chassis/suspension = bad balance under braking.

As nice as cars are, they’ve gotta have personality.
