I don’t really know. But it is right next to a beach called glass beach which got it’s name because they used to dump tons and tons of trash there and now all that’s left is tons of smoothed glass bits and some old rusted bits of machinery. Maybe the hazard area is where they dumped toxic waste. In front of that sign is a big fence; I had to reach over the fence with the camera to get the picture.
I took some pictures of “Color Sunday.”
Some new pics, didn’t come out as nearly as well as I had hoped, but there’s still a few good ones.
The ones with the Hollywood sign is taken with an Iphone 3g, later edited in photoshop. The other two is taken with an Iphone 4, using the app HDR for wider contrast range.
Because I can revive or kill threads, one of those two, forgot which one.
Apologies for the image quality not being the best, my camera decided to be bitchy about batteries and so I used my phone. :fffuuu:
Here some new pics I shot in the last 2 months
The 4th picture looks spectacular, very mysterious .
Kitten tiem!
My brother took this one.
And some pictures at my Grandma’s.
So I took these while driving home last winter. Colorado’s good for that. Er, fun pictures and being able to take pictures while driving…I like them, just decent composition despite every possible thing working to the contrary at the time…
San Juan Mountains? Where did you take them? The first picture looks like outside Gunnison.
So very close. First is Park County, north of Fairplay, second is outside Buena Vista, just NE of Gunnison on the other side of the divide.
thinks
okay, now I know you live in CO (clearly) but now, I have to ask, where? cuz it may be very, very close…
Nah I live 2.5 hours away from Gunnison. I’m up in Grand Junction.
Edit: Beautiful pics by the way. I love both of those regions.
So that’s 3 hours from here.
I grew up on the western slope, BTW. GJ is where my family went for “big city” shopping, lol.
I consider 3 hours close. Then again the ol’ Fort Collins, where I last left the illustrious Black Mesa two long years ago, was where I went to university. Guess what? 3 hours from here. I’m smack in the middle of everything in CO right now. Literally, the Crossroads of the Rockies (curious to see if you can make the connection)
…
Haha yeah I can make the connection. Still I would love to live smack dab in the middle of the rockies. Towns like Lake City, Ouray, and Leadville are my favorite places to visit.
Edit: It’s cool that we have another Colorado dweller on the forum! There are very few of us, but we always seem like we want to get together and meet up. Currently the only people I know on here are you, Rabidmonkey, and Catz. Strange.
There was a time Catz and I were supposed to set up a meet, but I think I chickened out…shame
You said Ouray? That’s my old stomping grounds. Literally. I know that place better than almost any other. Except a tiny, sneeze-and-miss-it town of nothing about 9 miles to the north…
Man I love Ouray. The hotsprings. Downtown. All of it is just perfect. And in the winter it is beautiful.
not wanting to derail the thread, but the awesome is too epic–
Those hot-spring pools are the best. I haven’t seen any better. Where else can you go play in a swimming pool in freezing weather here, and love it? The whole river system is money, from the falls to the canal to the river. I still have dreams of tubing the 'paghre from Ouray to the reservoir.
/nostalgia.
Okay, Rossman, we’re now best friends on here, whether you like it, or not!>
Sounds good buddy. :3 Rabid is going to come down sometime soon. You might wanna tag along with him.
