Over Population Discussion

It’s a problem but you can’t fuck with nature man .

if you want a solution’s , we have to find alternative ways just like mattemuse suggested

Well, fucking with the nature is what man knows best.

Here’s another idea - lets control the “overpopulation” of commuter cars. The US has 3 cars per family on average, think that has anything to do with production of greenhouse gasses? Why not leverage an “excess car tax” and get that down to 1 car per family, while simultaneously providing green public transit for those without vehicles?

No matter how wasteful and excessive individuals are, the real problem remains industrial pollution. Even if every citizen lived zero-impact, without hard reform of corporate behavior we’re still fucked.

Or you could secretly engineer a strain of flu designed to reduce the population and also manufacture the antidote but only make it available to the rich and the elite, causing rioting and confusion amongst the middle classes. Good idea, no?

Naw man they tried that already but apparently the flu just kills off babies and old people and those guys were probably going to die anyway to be honest.

There’s a simple solution to this, too. Get money the fuck out of politics. 100% Public funding of elections. I believe corporate influence in politics is the #1 threat to America, public funding needs to be mandated. People are already talking about it after the last presidential election, there’s going to be a big push for it before the 2012 election.

Oh my word, you may be on to something here! I CURSE YOU ILLUMINATI!!! WITH MY LAST BREATH

Lets face it, the only way to deal with overpopulation that WON’T fail as a result of people taking up arms to kill whoever tries to implement these measures is to kick space exploration and colonization into high gear. Work on getting space travel to be as dirt cheap as possible so that anyone can try, even if doing so for the dirt cheap price and no training results in them getting killed. That way you reduce the population both by having people, who are serious and smart about traveling into space, possibly discovering or creating other habitable planets, and the people who don’t succeed and die have still contributed to smaller population.
Sure, people might die, but that’d be a hobby and therefor their choice, and even if they died, they still got to go into space. Some people would consider that a fair trade.

I’ve always wondered about how it doesn’t make sense to have kids in modern society. They cost more time and money than anything, they destroy your chance of acomplishing something, there are 9001 ways to avoid having kids even if you do have sex, and if you don’t have 9000 billion dollars and 10 cars, it’s not even likely you’ll get to fuck at all.

I’m honestly never planning to have kids, if some stupid female gets pregnant from me I guess I’ll have to assume responsibility though.

we could always just bomb them. It is their turn after all.

Just make sure Canada stays untouched, okay?

Otherwise I may have to move back to Russia.

this forum really DID run out of good things to talk about huh.

How is the future of human society not a good thing to talk about?

it’s part of Human nature man :stuck_out_tongue:

sooner or later you’re gonna have kids jumping around the Room and destroying your Hardware ,PC and everything lol

Man’s inherent desire to group and be a community is what is causing the ‘overpopulation’ thing. There is plenty of “LAND” on the earth for everyone, we just need to make better use of it and stop crowding together.

/thread.

next?

On the contrary, discussion of how and in what ways people can be made to “make better use of” natural resources and “stop crowding together” is the BEGINNING of this thread, not the end.

:meh: my idea was the perfect ending. meh

You didn’t post an idea, you restated the problem. “Meh” indeed @ the tone of your posts, buddy.

I’m curious as to why everybody thinks that you’ll need to implement laws for this.

If the earth is truly overpopulating, if the evidence you have is so convincing, then shouldn’t the public, upon being informed of this, immediately start having fewer children and using less natural resources?

If you can’t convince the public of the problem, should you really be making laws which take away this much freedom from them?

There is no overpopulation. The planet is perfectly able to supply 12 billion people with food. The problem is that 90% of Earth’s riches is exploited by 10% of population, and the remaining population has to make do with the rest.

Pimps who need diamonds to be able to prove their “love”, thus creating demand for blood diamonds from Africa.

Hollywood stars who need 12 bathrooms in each of their 5 villas over 4 continents, and private jets to be able to travel between them.

European parliament spending 50% of “office hours” moving between their two building complexes, because they are unable to better organize their schedules.

Pop stars needing to make pompous parties with tons of meals, out of which nearly half is always thrown away, because they just wanted to create the illusion of “plenty”.

Reluctance to use electronic forms instead of paper prints, thus requiring more and more paper to be produced :frowning:

And to the original poster: How exactly does limiting women to 3 children reduce population, you moron?

:fffuuu:

Time to move to Canada:retard:
