My cat is afraid of outside.
Damn shadi, you have the worst pet owning luck ever.
Fancy, don’t you have some robots you should be having an affair with right about now?
You do realize that she essentially predicted this
Shadi will neuter his firstborn son in hopes that it will keep him from playing in the street
She is right. She’s just being a dick about it. Which is what the internet it for I guess.
in the 4 years it’s been roaming free, my cat has never been injured like that, only a few scratches here and there
i really did predict exactly this too
god, someone put these cats in a good fucking home. this shit pisses me off.
I fucking hear ya!
I bet it stepped on an American landmine.
it’s really nothing at all to do with luck
it’s u being a shitty pet owner
:S
Fancy, you’re being insensitive.
For all we know, the cat could’ve held Shadi and his family hostage and threatened to kill them one by one unless his freedom was granted. Maybe Shadi was so ashamed by these events that he did not wish to talk about it in public. So please, Fancy, stop giving him a hard time.
funny how you talk about me being a shitty owner, it’s a fucking cat we’re talking about not a dog, cats don’t listen, cat’s don’t obey, you clearly don’t know how it feels when your cat keeps fucking meowing at 3:00AM like it’s being beaten just to go outside, I doubt you ever felt that. ever since I got this one I kept getting into arguments with my family for every fucking single day about not letting her out but they kept getting her outside without me knowing till she got used to it, and in the end I got sick of these arguments but oh wellz, I took her today to the vet for another opertaion and she’ll stay there for a week. hope she gets well soon.
Yes they do. At least, with a little effort of the owner put into the process. Most of the people I know that own cats have cats that listen to their name, listen to commands, obey, etc. One of them was even taught to never ever put its paws on bare skin, and it does so. Hell, when we used to own a cat, my parents taught it to stay inside or never strayed too far away from the house. We could leave the doors and windows open and the cat wouldn’t even make gestures to go beyond the porch, and even if it did make a run for it to go after a bird or something, all we had to do was call its name and it would stop and come back.
The problem with people that get cats, is that they generally have the same ideas as you(r family) do when it comes to owning cats. “Meh, they don’t listen, they don’t obey, they’re minimum care pets, you can’t keep them inside, blahbla…”. Bullshit, any animal that has had close ties with humans for centuries can be trained with reward-based techniques.
We have two cats that technically belong to two of my roommates. The cats are basically mine since I take care of them. We don’t live on a busy street, but somehow all of the previous cats they had got run over. So from kittenhood, these two have been strictly indoor only cats. Both are neutered males. One is perfectly content staying inside all the time but the other is more adventurous and tries to get outside constantly.
The funny thing is he’s the one that runs, jumps and plays more but is actually the fatter of the two since getting neutered.
lies
they do obey if you take the time to teach them
shadi.
you are a bad pet owner. i told you what would happen if you continued what you were doing, AND IT HAPPENED. do not expect sympathy from anyone when you were warned in no uncertain terms. your cat did not hold a gun to your head and force you to let it outside. you made the decision. you are a bad owner.
you didn’t put the effort into taking care of your cats, and look what happened.
I’m actually with Fancy on this one, if you have a problem with cars and dogs etc. on your street then your cats should not be let outside. Unlike fancy though, I know that cats can be very very stubborn. If your cat refuses to be an inside cat rather than imprison him or try harder to train him I suggest you look for a new home for him on a less dangerous street and then get a cat that doesn’t mind staying indoors.
I have a huge yard and 4 cats on an empty street and my cats have never had trouble outdoors. My cats really can’t be trained though. When I don’t want them to do something I’ve tried yelling smacking etc. to keep them from doing it, but all it’s ever accomplished is made them do whatever I didn’t want them to do while I’m not looking. Perhaps you have to give them tough love from kittenhood, but they’ve always been too cute and fluffy and I’ve never had them do something particularly awful (besides the latest who chewed through 3 pairs of earphones when he was a kittn).
give your cats affection and teach them that they are not to go outside when they’re kittens and they’ll grow up to be loving, trusting, happy INDOOR cats.
if you’re adopting, adopt a cat that’s used to being inside. it’s not hard.
Well, I’m happy with them being outside (I’m mildly allergic and hate litter boxes) and they’re happy being outside so I think I’ll leave it at that.
vet called me today telling me that my cat died last night due to blood toxin
oh well, I guess that’s good for her, and I’ll never another raise cat again.
