Movie trailers thread - post videos and discuss upcoming movies

May is a real Science Fiction feast! Moon looks pretty interesting. Yay for Star Trek and T4. Haven’t been to cinema for a year or something to be honest but now might be a good opportunity for me to do it again

@The Minotaur: T3 isn’t that bad in my opinion. It got negative critics I think because it’s basically the same scheme as the first 2 movies. Two Terminators travel to the past, one must protect ViPs (John Connor, Kate Brewster)from the other Machine. Only this time it’s Judgment Day for good. I liked it, especially the ending.

Seconded. I liked it too.

Really looking forward to this, another Sci-fi Horror flick set in space. Don’t know about Dennis Quaid though, there’s something about his acting that just isn’t convincing, nevertheless, this film looks like it could be badass.

Me likely, looks very good.

I really looking forward to that actually. I’m in two minds whether to track down the comic and read it first or go in cold.

Okay, I’m starting to like these Grand General Hot trailer threads. It lets us discuss upcoming movies, games, and television shows in general. But I prefer an update every month or so, not a new thread every time you (Grand General Hot) see somthing cool.

Anyway, I was reistent to see the new Star Trek film because of how much of a bad rep the fanbase has (worst cos-play ever!) But my friend, who can spot fail from a mile away, said it was awesome. Besides, most people who aren’t my freinds think I’m a faggot anyway and say everything I like is gay (I even heard a kid say “Watchmen is so gay!” Yep, I’m in a school full of douchebags with no taste.) And since I’m working out at the gym and trying out for football, I think I can see a Star Trek film with my balls intact.
Also, Star Wars is pretty much going down hill thanks to George Lucas’ CGI maniacle brain (despite Episode III not being that bad) and The Clone Wars kiddie’ cartoon.
But I’ll only see it after I see the original Star Trek Trilogy.

By the way, there is no ‘original Star Trek trilogy’. Originally it was a sixties TV show that ran for 3 seasons. Years later there was Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The next three sequels form a loose trilogy in that they follow pretty directly on from each other (probably what you were thinking of, and they have been boxed together as DVDs now), then there are further sequels which eventually transition the film series to following the cast from the later Next Generation crew.

Traditionally speaking, the even numbered Trek films are perceived as the best ones in the series (2, 4, 6, and 8), until 10 which was atrocious and the new one which is the 11th, but by all accounts brilliant (I’m going to see it soon). The new film is a reboot/prequel sort of deal that doesn’t really require you to have seen any of the others.

Maybe I should of used better wording.
I’m not completely Star Trek retarded.
What I meant by “Star Trek Trilogy” was what fans (and the DVD box set) perceive as a trilogy, which is II, III, and IV. I assumed this trilogy was a good place to start off with. Also, I know there was a TV show (who doesn’t?) And I know the new one’s a reboot, but like I did with “King Kong,” I want to see how it was before I see the new version.
Anyway, I finished watching “II: Wrath oh Khan.” It kicked ass! One of the best films I’ve ever seen!

I’m soooooo glad they are making a full-length film out of this

(For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlgtbEdqVsk)

Neil Bloomkamp is great! Especially his Halo short film!

Be prepared for the others to be less great: ‘Khan’ is the acknowledged pinnacle of the series. IV is pretty damn funny and good, but campy and dated.

Well, I’ll soon find out I guess. I got the trilogy collection so I can watch it right now!

this is shitty quality, but HQ and fullscreen it for maximum nerdgasm.

Apparently it’s coming out in 2011 and that lame Daft Punk band will be doing the soundtrack. But hey, you gotta admit it’s still petty damn cool looking. Hopefully an official website and a better trailer will be out soon. I’m definitely going to see it.

I definitely think this movie is going to be awesome. Taken as it is of course, and not some epic entry into the sci-fi genre.

Major flashbacks to the speeder bike scene from Return of the Jedi.

Don’t mess with Daft Punk.

I don’t know about the movie, the first movie isn’t that great to begin with.
