I was stuck on this for a few minutes. The button which temporarily opens the second hatch also moves a platform attached to the hatch. Just quickly swim up onto the platform and reach the next room.

same here! i tried numerous times to find a way to the top platforms for pump/tank 02 and ended up just skipping it. that brings me some closure, since i thought that i illegitimately beat the game lol.
Why is the second pump/tank not needed?? Was that intentional? Seems odd, plus I don’t recall HL1 allowing that?
That’s odd. I triggered both pumps when I played. Do you really only need one?
I thought the coolant level isn’t high enough if you don’t do both. Strange.

What the heck do I do? I’ve checked EVERYWHERE. When I go to the scientist nothing happens. I’m so confused… I’m frustrated to the max lol
I see you have the lift on the right in the down-position. If you can get back to where that lift goes up to, there should be a door that you can go through to get to the main chamber of the area.
I quit. I’ve spent 3 hours on this level and I’m frustrated out of my mind… -_-
I think that this game is glitched for me, tbh.
To the right is the room where the guy is telling you to hurry up and whatnot.
To the left is where you want to go, since you did all the stuff already, if you go there before that, the door will be locked, it’s not a dead end like you may have thought.
You should end up here, there will be a big fight, so prepare for that. Once you kill all the aliens, jump in the pool.
Down here at the bottom, press that button, and swim down the corridor behind the door that opens. It’s a long swim, make sure you have enough air.

Did you press the button underwater and jump quickly on the lift? Took me awhile to figure out.
In tank 2(the first room of the 2nd coolant place, you should find this lift with the headcrabs on top. Press the button and jump on that metal grate(the lift).
After going through the hallway, you should be in this room, press the button and take the lift near it up.
Once you’re up there, you should see this spot, go down there and pull the switch where the dead scientist is. The lights will turn green when the alarm is done ringing.
I’ve been up all night looking for the hidden hat in lambda core. I can’t find it and I really want that achievement.
Now, I respect that nobody wants spoilers posted on the forum so, if anybody wants to PM me with some instructions on where to find it I would greatly appreciate it.
I’m off to get some sleep.

Perhaps it’s like in Episode 2 where it’s at the beginning of the game.
I haven’t found it.
It’s not. I was expecting to find it in Questionable Ethics, but no, you’ll find it in in the first map of Lambda Core.
