ITT: You ask Kaze questions concerning bodybuilding and general fitness.

You can do DB military press if you wish. Just find the proper weight and get the form down. Also, the “pole” is referred to as a barbell, or bar :3.

Not really. Pullups and chin ups help greatly in improving your pullups and chin ups. Deadlifts are mainly a lower back (spinae erector) and butt/hams (glutes) exercise. Chin/pullups are mostly upper back dependent. You’d see more co-dependent gains from barbell rows for chin ups/pullups than you would doing deadlifts. However, you still need to do DLs. And the only way to properly get better at an exercise is to do it, not do something else.

Sounds like a brilliantly stupid idea to me. Sets are not counted by the amount of weight you cannot do. There’s a reason why the system goes (e.g: 135x5x3) like it does. 135 is the amount of weight, 5 is the amount of reps, 3 is the amount of sets, etc. I’ve truthfully never heard of this “method” you mentioned and I cannot see it being useful. If you can’t do the weight, don’t do it.

You’re better off starting while you’re shorter than you are waiting to grow. Trust me, the taller you get, it becomes exponentially harder to get big.

There really is no set number of calories an activity can burn, you just have to be intelligent in your guesses.

There are a few calculators there that might help, and I’m sure you can find more on Google.

No fucking way. I gave a very specific reason why I was relaxing one specific rule for Kaze in this thread and this thread only.

Thank the gods. I figured it was something along those lines.

Lulzy when you think about the other pole.

Thanks for clarifting about DLs and BRs. it’s always good to actually know what you are doing.
I really need that shit since I lost ~20 pounds (Still wondering how I managed to puke that lot out of myself) this winter. Still strugglin to recover those.

It sounded hella weird when the guy told me about this the first time. Hence I asked.

Also: What about the lat raise?

I’ve been doing it for long (since the beginning really) and have really a little idea of what it affects. I thought it would be wrists and shoulders.

Lol @ wrists.

It works exactly what it says. Your lats.

Now Kaze become popular as Body Trainer.

:pirate:
Fuck, that makes sense.

Kaze:

Are we all allowed to make threads about our masculinity too?
“ITT: You ask JohnKiller118 questions concerning faggotry and general shitness.”

Anyway, WAAAAAAY tl;dr.

I don’t want to build up muscles, just want to stay in shape. Is it enough to just go swimming or jogging, or is that too unilateral?

Why would you make this post? There are quite a few individuals in this thread who ARE interested in improving their health through proper exercise. Kaze obviously has experience and information about this topic, so a thread to ask and get the information needed to get the best results makes sense.
Maybe if the topic of a thread isn’t interesting to you, and you have nothing to add you shouldn’t make the post at all.

@ kaze - does the cutting down on bread also mean cutting down on pasta as well? Would cutting pasta leave me room for slightly larger meals because I wouldn’t feel as full?
The lack of recover I would get from sleeping, would that contribute to muscle soreness I’ve been getting more of lately?

What is wrong with the internet?
I was looking for more video information similar to what Kaze posted, and I getht his as the first hit:
Uuuuggghhh

Makes one despair for the fate of humankind.

Yes, pasta is another filling substance. Sadly, most healthy complex carbs are derived from grain products, so you’re going to have to find a good balance of grunting and shoving that sandwich down your throat and not eating too much bread.

And yes, sleep deprivation can lead to excessive DOMS (delayed on-set muscle soreness) in muscles.

It’s all pointless if you don’t have a proper diet.

Run to the end of the Earth and back, but if you aren’t eating right you’ve achieved nothing but a false sense of security.

Hey, I was just kidding! I just found it funny that, out of the blue, I saw a thread made by Kaze dedicated to body building.
I’m trying to loose weight too. I’m trying out for football and I’ve lost 22 pounds in 3 months. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me, because I was in a downward spiral heading towards being 400 pounds, rolling in a wheel chair, and be another stereotypical Fat American Gamer (aka F.A.G.)

You actually should consider making a thread entitled “ITT: You ask JohnKiller118 questions concerning faggotry and general shitness.”. Those kinds of things seem to be right up your alley.

Alright! I will!
(Not really. I don’t want an infraction.)

No you really should.

You should make a thread called “ITT: You ask intooblivion questions concerning beating dead horses and general assness.”

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
