I was thinking maybe to replace Gonarch with a func_physbox in the shape of a ball, length-constrained to the bottom of a func_tracktrain… Or something.

The Gonarch will most likely be the biggest challenge. Nice abstract art in that screenshot, though.
I tried a different approach, replacing the bullsquid model with a modified version of the HL:S Gonarch. This causes some more problems, though. see video.

If you can tell by the various logical entities I have set up in the screenshot, which, by the way, have at least tripled in number as of now, I have something a bit more… Awesome… In mind.
Yyyeeaaahhhh, now that I avert my eyes from the Gonarch and look around in the other viewports… That’s a lot of entity work. I actually can’t wait to see what you have planned and how you’ll work this out.

That thing is awesome. though it’s lob attack is a bit fast, so is it’s main speed. lol it’s like the Gonarch ate the flash and absorbed his speed.
So do you plan to release it with HL textures, or are you going to use some of the textures and fauna from QE to make it look something like this
