Cool. I will try to improve my x_c4a1a. I know people have life but this is sad most people do project like hazard course remake which I personally doesn’t like, becuse tutorial in gameplay is enough for me. And the guy who was supposed to make gonarch’s lair doesn’t work hard on it anymore I think.

Interloper update

Finished x_c4a1e, x_c4a1f and updated x_c4a1cd.
VMF files are included.

To make map conversion easier, I wrote a small AutoIt script that works on decompiled HL Source vmf’s. It will rename a number of entities to their BMS counterparts and do some advanced stuff on some entities, like transforming keyvalues into I/O for multi_manager (which becomes a logic_relay).
Otherwise, only the most important entities for Xen are currently supported, but support for more entity classes can easily be added.
You will need AutoIt installed to run the script.
Maybe someone finds it useful to get started on some of the other maps.

You put in a lot of custom textures and models.
As you can see, our Xen port to Black Mesa was not intended to raise visual quality.
We just want to provide a quick way to play Xen in BM (that is, before the BM developers release their Xen masterpiece).

I am tempted to use your textures and models for the outdoor levels c4a1a, c4a1b and c41af. But we would then mix low and high texture quality, because we do not have high-resolution textures for everything.
On the other hand, we are already breaking consistency with the low HL content vs. high BM NPCs/weapons.
I’ll just leave the decision on whether to use your content to dky, as he started the project.

If you want, we could create an “HD” edition as a separate version to the “classic” edition (the current project).

That’s mostly up to the mappers though.

Unless of course you agree with me, then I can get to work. But I do not understand what maps have already been completed and which are being finalized. If you have a ready maps, I am ready to remake version of Xen in HD and make the necessary models and textures.
Incidentally digging in BM models discovered (probably leaked) model “models / xenians / fungus_medium.mdl” which does not have the texture, maybe I can create the texture itself to her.

I also prefer creating multiple versions, although maintaining multiple versions in parallel complicates things.

Vlad, if you want to make HD content for the HD version, a good start would be to make textures for the indoor Interloper maps (c4a1cd, c4a1e). When the Interloper maps are stable enough (not yet) it makes sense making a fork with HD textures, models, displacements.
You will have to ask dky when it comes to Gonarch’s Lair.

Is there anything yet I could do besides improving my c4a1a ?

P.S Vlad I got two missing textures in your HD map. One is spikes at the beggining behind the player and one on the rocks.
