Eh, that’s fake factory for you. And I agree with you except for that “strong-minded” part. Episode 2 kind of ruined that. Some of the dialogue -or would it be monologue since gordon never speaks - kind of made her sound too much like an unrealistic, teenage gordon fangirl. Such as when she said “I can always count on you to find away through” in an almost sighing fashion. I almost expected her to give an audiable sigh. But episode two definitely makes you care about her more than the other Half-Life games, and definitely more than most other games do about their characters.

I don’t think Episode 2 made her any “weaker” per se, I think it’s just that they were showing the natural progression of Alyx and Gordon’s relationship. By Episode 2 they’d spent a lot of time together, helping each other, so they care about each other. Alyx getting emotional about Gordon is only natural, and she’s still as tough as ever.
Also turians are badass. I would love to be a turian.
