Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

1 suggestion for the vorts … how about when they charge for the lighting attack … the near light sources would flicker or something … … what do u think ? is it a good ideea or a bad one ?

Has been suggested before and I do like the idea very much.
Question is if it isn’t too hard to implement…

I think I suggested this in the Xen discussion thread before the crash, but to make Xen more challenging (since there are no HECU), vortigaunts should have the ability to take cover.

They could hide behind an object, charge their attack and then at the critical moment come out of cover and fire it at the player. It’s not a new attack, just a minor AI modification. It would make the battles on Xen more like the firefights with the HECU instead of a turkey shoot.

even better is their ability to snap jump into the buttholes on xen. I would die laughing if I ever saw something like that.

Oh, Catz, you talk so dirty.

Need to wash my mouth out with soap.

Yes, tasty tasty soap.

I think that might pose a problem. HL2’s cover system is little more than standing behind a wall or crouching behind an object. And besides They need concentration to use their bolt attack. If they take cover entirely, their only going to be hitting the wall that they are using for cover.

Depending on the difficulty level, they can run and charge their attack at the same time. I don’t see why they can’t run out from behind cover and fire.

Ha, I remember in HL1 when a vort would begin charging its attack but decide to flee halfway through. The lighting would still be attached to the designated anchor points, so the result would be a lengthy green skipping rope connected between the vort and the floor.

From a theoretical standpoint it wouldn’t be too hard, but putting that into practice might change things.

In this case I expect you to do it :3

Couldn’t you use a trigger that affects lights, light_spots and prop_dynamics, then change their values? (with some sort of variable that checks if the prop_dynamic is marked as a light prop)

Soup cheated on Sassy with Fong? :fffuuu:

I’ll explain it to you when you’re older :3
