Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

Whatever

Basicly what i say, school in malaysia isn’t like some country in the west that teach prefect english.

Reminds me of a medical story I heard about a doctor who in a last ditch effort to save a guy, cut his chest open and massaged his heart with his bare hands, and it worked.

You wouldn’t say :expressionless:

I speak english fluently and have only studied it for 3 years.

That only means that you have a good english education level in Sweden. In my country a lot of people that finish secondary school would have a real problem to have a fluent english conversation, not to mention to watch a movie in english or understand a song lyrics. I was one of the best students at my english classes and as you can see I still suck at it, lol. If one wants to learn english he/she has to go to some private english school. Probably in Sweden you have english movies with subtitles in TV, I guess that helps a lot in learning english.

EDIT: According to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_English-speaking_population 89% of the Swedish population can speak English. That’s the highest score for countries where english is not an official language, congrats!

Yes, I won!
Anyway, me speaking english fluently is probably also because I have it very easy to learn new languages, and I’m also on the top 10 list of speaking english in my school (teachers included).

And yet that last post of yours had more grammatical errors than you usually do.

School only taught me the basics of English, 9 years of non-stop Internet taught me the real deal.

Well I learned english when I was just a baby. Beat that.

Me too. From TV. Ok maybe more like a toddler.

Yeah, English is a cool language. Over here in the U.S., we learn French or Spanish though.

Off-Topic:
Dr. Strangelove, do you remember what thread your sig quote comes from? It’s slipped my mind. :frowning:

Most likely you laugh you lose.

EDIT: hey look, I’m a houndeye now…with my 369th post…

As of this post you have 106. Where on Earth did you get 369 from?

Looks like a few more lessons wouldn’t hurt. You’ve got to check really really well before critcising someone’s grammar or spelling.

And you shouldn’t go correcting mistakes that aren’t there. It’s supposed to be Spanish and English.

Eh? I didn’t do ANY corrections in my post. I just highlighted the mistakes. Unless you think it’s SUPPOSED to be ‘where’ in his sentence.

Haha. I conveniently missed the ‘h’ there.

Here in sweden too. Everyone has to study english, but you can choose a secondary language between Spanish, French and German.

I call bullshit on that Wikipedia list. It claims that 96% of the US population speaks English. 60% would’ve been a more accurate number.

True – But, as far as I know, things are not black and white; you don’t have to be the absolute master of something to point out the mistakes of others in that regard. And of course, I wouldn’t make those kinds of errors and typos if this was a serious place where I had to put real attention to what I’m writing (something I usually do; in fact, I don’t even commit mistakes in Spanish); but this is an Internet forum. I think it’s easy to understand me, even if I commit minor mistakes (the where thing was distracting, though); on the other hand, Eric’s got some serious basic things to learn; sometimes, no one can make out that he’s trying to say.

Anyway, it’s been like a page-long off-topic. Let’s go back to the actual topic.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
