As brilliant of a scientist mister Freeman is, he cant put two and two together to use the his gun as a melee weapon…hence the crowbar

Actually he does. He’s clearly photographed with a helmet. And I think also a cup of coffee. And other things that you’d expect him to have over the course of three days’ fighting and definitely not simply for being on the job.
Which reminds me, small suggestion, those coffee machines shortly before the bullsquid-freezer, the part that has the zombies eating bodies from tables… yeah… Those coffee machines should work.

well, the big room before that was a sort of cafeteria (with all the zombies eating scientists), and then there was this long boring empty hall that connected the cafeteria to the coffee/freezer room. I think it would make alot more sense if it had a more defined cafeteria setup, and that big empty hall now serves a function, being the kitchen.
