Yes, it’s lazy in an odd way, since it actually takes more effort, and it’s annoying.
Failures aside, that’s actually not a bad idea.

I thought Eli created the Gravity Gun. ?
What the?..
Why did that entire page just disappear?
I think you don’t need the point provided the last letter of the abbreviation is also the last letter of the whole word (ie Dr because of Doctor
And in the original HL2 script, Eli Maxwell (who would later become Eli) would’ve have handed you the Gravity Gun, so presumably he’s the one who made it.
And Barney says “Hey! You’ve got Eli’s Gravity Gun!”
There should be chalky white salt deposits around the bodies of water, particularly the pools at the start of residue processing.
You would be correct.
Most Americans add the period anyway, though.
As far as I know with British, Australians and Americans although they all speak English some words are spelled differently and gramar is also different. But then I’m a dumb grunt, wtf do I know?
This.
No, but seriously, rules like that are generally universal in English.
EDIT: Foot, meet mouth. I just read the article. “As with most abbreviations of titles, in the United States and Canada a period follows the abbreviated form, while in most Commonwealth countries, the period (full stop) is not used.”
I second this, could also include things like corrosive things, falling from a major height could cripple you slightly, so maybe a slower walking pace, short term damage basically.
Thats right baby, im back. :jizz:
Who?
you mean chalky white Calcium deposits
No, I’m pretty sure it’s salt. I live in New Mexico, and there’s a man-made pond formed by an artesian well nearby, which has bright white dust all around it. NM ground water is pretty salty.
Surely someone in the team has come with this idea already (1). Basically, I think it would be beneficial to the project if you could involve Valve in the beta testing process of BM. Knowing Gabe and people at Valve, I’m sure they would dedicate at least some time monthly to go through what you’ve created. The guys are professionals at telling something is shit when it is, and at scrapping something altogether because they think it lacks something. Except that you would have the final word. They’ve also proved invaluable to some mod developers in their feedback (2).
I’m not hoping for any kind of “we’re already doing it” reply, because I suppose you would like to keep this under wraps until release, however I’m leaving this suggestion here just in case. Send them the mod, beg them for feedback and be prepared for foreseeable consequences because they know better than you what makes a game really woik.
(1) and I went through a minimal search before - please redirect me to the correct place if this has already been suggested
(2) most recently I think, it was Robert Yang of Radiator fame
^ Probably the best suggestion and the best written post in the past 100 pages. I hope they do that.
Brisk idea, amigo. Sure, that is what everybody wants. Wait additional few months for the release.
So’s your mom.
But seriously, it’s a nice detail thought. :3

I was thinking it would be cool, that when you open the teleport to Xen, a lot of Controllers come through the teleport, but when you yourself teleport to Xen, there’s no one there… Imo there should be a 2-3 controllers on their way to the same portal that you entered.
But you are beeing teleported to a random place in Xen, if you look at the place you arrived there is nothing than the floating rock, no teleport or something else. I guess the controllers are just beeing teleported from whereever they are at the moment by the Nihilanth.
That wouldn’t be so great. The whole point of starting on Xen is that it’s eerie, quiet and terrifyingly alien and majestic. You don’t want to ruin that by fighting three controllers immediately.
Not really, since they have to have it playtested anyway. Valve are professionals - they know what works and what doesn’t. I’d say they’d be better at judging and commenting on it than you or I. I know they’ve said in the past that they’d love to play it, so it’s certainly worth asking or investigating, especially if they’ve done it before.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
