I would do it even if he stayed silent.
well can they let u pick stuff up like in hl2
Fixed.
What? Harsh, moi?
Harsh?
Nah, Fair? Absolutely.
Have you read anything before you posted in this forum? Also there is a search function. Can you do me a favor? Go play in traffic.
I hope this is already implemented, but here goes…
In HL, the grunts would not only talk to each other when idle, but they would also sometimes emit quiet radio chatter from other grunts in the facility.
If the guards have radio chatter, the grunts should too.
I always found it funny when there was only 1 HECU remaining in an area, and he was like “ALL CLEAR” … “GOGOGO” … “I hear something”
WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING TO STUPID?
Emitting radio chatter from the others in the facility would make more sense, or saying things related to his sector, instead of shouting nonsense to his nonexistent squadmates
Random speeches were so awesome back in at times…
Uh I got the impression he was talking over the radio.
That was probably the case, but yelling stuff like “GoGoGo!” to a squad nowhere in your vicinity didn’t make too much sense when I heard it.
But is it even possible to change NPC behavior based on how many others are near him?
I’ve seen a few cases where Overwatch soldiers would stack up, or try and cover eachother’s movements, but most of the time they seem to act like they’re all fighting individually.
here is a new idea which probably be ignored or shunned of by Raminator (who constantly disagrees with all of my sugestions), but there should be an easter egg where you see the Young Kliener chasing after Lammarr, while shouting something along the lines “They are so fascinating, I must keep one and study it.”
in episode 2, during the barn battle after you meet the advisor, the combine sort of work like a team: 2 of them enter the barn and when you exit it 2 of them strafe sideways.

By less than spectacular you mean bad… It’ll take time, but I’ll make a good suggestion, YOU’LL see
Aside from being an easter egg that none of us are meant to suggest, the man defined by Laidlaw as Kleiner has been injured - he’s the one you see on the ground holding his knee - so I doubt he’ll be skipping after aliens.
What about getting a piggy back from Eli?
SPOILER ALERT
How about that: When the game is over and you decline to step into the portal G-man “offers” you a battle you have no chance of winning. Maybe instead of just showing you surrounded with an army of alien grunts a player could have a control over Freeman with no weapon trying to delay his inevitable death.
I remember a thread about that before the forum crash, sounds like a fun idea to me.
It should give the time you survived. People would have contests to make high-scores
But anyone who would accept his offer would win that high-score by 20 years.
Meh, I always beleived that G-man would put you into stasis no matter what you decide, and the “No regrets” ending was just to scare Gordon.
