Somewhere a dev mentioned 30 min introduction followed by 30 min exploration. Does that mean AM and UC have been extended significantly? Damn, it’d be cool to explore through an entire laboratory if that’s what they meant.
You could just stay in Unforeseen Consequences for 30 minutes
No.
To add to the subject of gibs, in one FPS game I played (I can’t remember the name), a shot from a shotgun blows someone’s arm off, if aimed at that arm.
In short, if you shoot someone’s arm with a powerful enough weapon, I want it to come off!
If you shoot someone in the head, I want the head to come off!
Before I completely gib everything, I want to be able to shoot off limbs first.
Like Fallout 3, in a sense, where you could blow off limbs, and if you shot at the torso enough it gibbed.
No, they won’t be implementing a L4D2-ish gib system.
Oh well. T’was worth a try.
Not really. I mean, if they took your advice we’d have to wait another year and a half for the mod. Not really worth it IMO.
i was looking at this silly shot, and it made me think

the Apaches should fire Tracer rounds!

(for no reason other than it looks cool, while remaining authentic.)
Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t Automatic Rifles and Machine Guns have a tracer every 5 or 10 rounds?
Only if you load them that way.
I support this idea. I think It’d look cool
But of course then some people who know nothing about aircraft ordinance would keep asking why the choppers fire lasers.
Well Suck them
Well, lucky you then. You suggested something that was already in the original Half-Life! And, therefore, most likely will be in Black Mesa, too. Congratulations!
sarcasm
Hey, I have an idea! How about zombies and aliens in Black Mesa? And later, the military comes and kills the scientists AND the zombies AND the aliens, and then Gordon must fight against marines as well! Boy that would be awesome! I don’t know where I get all these ideas, I must be a nexus of creative thinking or something… whew!
ooh look hyperbole. I can do the same!
How about the marines using F16s, depleting flashlight power, squishable cockroaches, a fast running speed with no sprint, a fully automatic secondary fire on the glock, and hey, why don’t we reuse the same guard model throughout the game so that you can think ‘hey it’s the same guy as right at the beginning’… awesome!
In other words, I wish people would stop dissing people for expressing a preference for things to be as they were in the original Half Life because precedent shows that if it’s in Half Life, it might be completely different in Black Mesa.
not to mention it was pretty freakin’ obvious the Apaches in HL1 weren’t loaded with red tracer rounds…
seriously, are you that stupid?
typically, in most miltarys, a Team leader will place a tracer every 3 or 5 rounds to direct the line of fire, this is so the squad knows exactly where to fire.
They were different… they use electric? but looked similar… what were they called again?
Vortigores.
