The scientist in the break room is always random.
Not for me. Whenever I play it’s a black scientist drinking coffee and a Kliener model using the vending machine.
Hhhmmm, the vending machine scientist is always random for me. The one sitting down is always black though.
I always get what Baconeggs gets, and every video I’ve seen of that part is the same black guy/Kleiner model.
it doesn’t matter either way since neither of the scientists in that room are Magnussen. In the quote from Episode 2, “I heard what you did to my casserole.” That means he wasn’t there when it happened, or he would have seen it with his own two eyes. So he shouldn’t be there when it happens. And he won’t be there when it happens.
I don’t think those are his exact words.
But as I’ve said, Freeman probably did it a lot. Magnusson is an asshat, after all.
Well it’s possible he used to be Mrs. Magnusson…
Tranny anyone? He is a “man” of SCIENCE after all.
…and the other 10%? Is it lies? It’s lies isn’t it. Or 5% lies, 5% broken promises :’(
Also…
…just no.
Chill the fuck out, we all know it’s not, it’s just neat to speculate about.
Shit, that’s what I would do if I were a genius scientist.
I mean, uh… what?
Oh, thanks for pointing that out. Edited, and fixed.
One thing that struck me as I was playing through Half-Life again - give the tentacle the ability to stick its claw/head through the window where you fire the rocket. It comes through when you first see it, but after that the room becomes a safe zone.
Maybe the glass hurt it and it learned better not to stick its head in there?
If bullets can’t hurt it, glass can’t hurt it.
unless it’s alergic to glass.
because getting smashed constantly by the tentacle that’s poking its giant head around in that tiny room would be frustrating, and it adds nothing to gameplay.
It already ate the scientist that was in there. You don’t see Freeman checking storage closets he’s cleaned out later on in the hope that some supplies have wandered back in.
I disagree. I think it would add to the feeling of having nowhere safe to be within the silo. The tentacle was practically a joke, and was less of a boss and more of a puzzle. It needs to be made more threatening. I think the area with the explosives should be made accessible by the tentacle, as well as the control room. This would mean the only safe places Gordon can go are in that passage between the control room and the explosives room, and outside the silo. Another cool thing to have would be if you fire a weapon outside the silo, huge dents appear on the wall to simulate the tentacle banging the side of the walls to get at the noise. These things would really make the tentacle feel like more of a threat. And, obviously, the player is safe in the control room, explosives room, and outside the silo to walk around and would only attract the tentacle if they fire their weapon.
[EDIT: Actually, I’m expanding on this. In Mirror’s Edge, if you run into an elevator and guards are shooting at you, then little dents appear on the inside of the door. I think that this is pretty much just like the kind of thing that should appear on the outside of the silo wall when you are walking around these hallways outside the silo, and if you fire your weapon, then you could hear the bang of that tentacle slamming against the wall and dents similar to the ones linked above should appear on the wall. It’d be a really neat touch, and probably scare the shit out of anyone. The tentacle wouldn’t even need to be animated, since the player can’t see it at that point.]
I forsee a tentacle tapping musical.
What’s with this firing your weapon business? The tentacle goes ballistic if you run or jump.
