Is anyone else sick of the pretty nose joke? :meh:

Joke…?
Have you ever seen a pic of Ram?

It’s an hommage not a joke. Pay some respect to the mother of all nose.

brofist

Thank you. Also, at the people below me and above burbinator who continued the very joke I just said was getting old. Way to be dense.

Not that I agree or disagree about the joke, but just cause others find it still funny and you do not does not necissarily mean they are less intelligent than you.
Also I believe they kept doing it more to annoy you than anything else.

Wait, what’s the purpose of having a bunch of barrels in the test chamber?

A little bit of fun for all the folks who “impulse 101” within the first two minutes of the game.

anyone here notice that near the end of hl2:ep2 magnusson said: “i can never forget what you did to my casserole” and the faq said that magnusson WON’T make an appearance, would it REALLY be hard to put him near the microwave at the beginning? or will the microwave be scrapped?

The problem with this idea is that it is never confirmed by anyone at Valve as to where Magnusson is during the Black Mesa incident. Kliener and Eli were confirmed as being near the unstable supercomputer before the test, but Magnusson has never been seen in HL1.

Near the end of Ep2, Magnusson does say that. If I remember correctly, a commentary node at that point actually said that they ‘finally revealed whose casserole it was.’ Also, Magnusson’s character was inspired by the Gordon-doesn’t-need-to-hear-all-this guy.

And one of the scientists outside of the test chamber died, and the other was doing CPR on a guard. Who’s to say that that guy couldn’t be Magnusson?

Because his manner was inspired by that guy. It wasn’t him.
My personal opinion? He was called away from Sector C to oversee a shipment or something, and he asked the black guy to watch over his cassarole, to make sure “that fool Freeman” didn’t blow it up yet again.

And who’s to say that he is?

The devs are taking the smart option here. Because Magnusson has never been identified in the game they could go out on a limb and make the scientist performing CPR the Magnusson model. This would be all well and good until Valve comes out and says that he was actually nowhere near the test chamber during the incident.

I don’t think he’d have even had to tell the guy…
If the weird, mute research associate (the one who has a Ph.D, but no one knows how he got it) that probably does stuff like this all the time, came running into the break room and repeatedly pushed random buttons on the microwave, “My God, what are you doing?” doesn’t seem like an unrealistic response.

Yes, they’re referring to Magnusson.
I’m not saying that Magnusson was in that cafeteria, but what kind of man puts a casserole in a microwave, starts the timer, and leaves the entire sector?
Just throwing that out there. Don’t hurt me.[/SIZE] :frowning:

Well, he came back at some point. Maybe even after the resonance cascade. While everyone else was being zapped by aliens and crushed by falling debris, he was sidling back to the kitchen to see if his casserole was still there.

Not necessarily, maybe the black scientist sent him a SMS?

The kind of man who gets paged away while it’s cooking, and has to leave.
I’m thinking that it’s happened a lot, because, seriously, would you resist doing that to Magnusson? My version of Gordon wouldn’t. So of course, Magnusson would tell someone to look after it while he’s gone. It’s just that the guy he told to look after it was too absorbed in his novel to realize that Gordon was in the room until the cassarole blew up.
And he’d have to be out of the sector, because Freeman never saw him (nor is it implied that he did in Ep2) getting out of Sector C, and the tram line was out, so he didn’t go that way.

That’s my line of thought.

Based on the fact that the scientist VALVe claim to be Kliener used the ‘Einstein’ model, Magnusson could be absolutely any scientist the player encounters throughout the AM Labs. There were 2 guys in the toilets, 1 getting changed, 2 working down the hall, and another travelling in the direction of the break room, who stops to talk to a colleague.

Technically, any of these scientists could have been him since they were all within a minute away from the break room.

As for Black Mesa, I don’t care if he appears or not. (He wont) However, I think seeing him rushing towards the break room, giving the player an evil glance as he passes would be funny as hell. He wouldn’t even need any dialogue. :stuck_out_tongue:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
