Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

I appreciate the thanks but I was just trying to explain a) why I know a bit about gibbing and b) why I was so casual about it(not that font can express how casually I typed that). I’m not looking for praise I was just trying to make my point. Now lets all hold hands and sing kubaya.

I’m pretty sure that was due to a resonance cascade induced malfunction. Turrets seen in the hazard course are quite capable of distuingishing between regular scientists and gun-crazed ones.

There were Turrets in the hazard course? :brow:

Yes. Kill the Barney at the end and you shall see.

I personally would like to see a newsletter. Just give my email and receive a monthly update on the progress…

To organize such a thing would require extra effort, no?

There is no monthly progress report, because the release date is a secret (FAQ). Forget the Kennedy files and tapes, forget the 9/11 intelligence reports and forget UFOs. THIS is the best guarded, most wanted info.

The way I see it, the purposes of this board are threefold:

  1. Worship, literally the devs and their work (bring it on Dillxn).
  2. Whine, bitch and offer “advice” about their work at the same time, thus making the devs even better as they listen to it in their practically non-existent free time.
  3. Sit, wait, flame and spam making the time until the release go by faster.

:hmph:

I doubt they were Cold War era.

Um, yeah… the Cold War ended in the early 90’s.

Well, seeing as Black Mesa was built in the 50’s as a missile base for the US Government, and the Sentry Guns are only found in the older sectors (the original base), it’s reasonable to think that they were leftover from the Turret System put in place to defend the base from Soviet Invasion. And since it’s possible that Cold War tech wasn’t able to distinguish friend from foe, the Sentry Guns will open fire on anyone that go in front.

That’s also why the Announcement System warns you when the Sentries are activated, so you be careful around them. My guess is that while the HECU Sentry Guns are able to ‘see’ the Marines as their ‘friends’ and not shoot them, the old Black Mesa Turrets are probably heat or motion censored, and will fire at anything hot / moving.

Magnusson in black mesa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LstQx4lvVNo&NR=1

This board really needs to implement a bot that instantly quotes any cockroach post with the word “magnusson” in it and lists the reasons why he won’t be in.

BOTRESPONSE#27:

@baconeggs

NO, GTFO

Precisely.

Will I be able to turn off the crosshair like in the old Half-life?
I was :frowning: when i couldn’t find that button in hl2…

cl_showcrosshair 0, I beleive.
Or cl_crosshair 0. Or crosshair 0.
One of those.
Should work in any source game.

the problem is that many of them write “magnussen” instead.

You know how Microsoft Word suggests words you could have meant when you spell wrong? Yeah.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
