In my class, we’ve had about unconciousness and what it can do to you if you don’t acknowledge it.

Take for example this scenario, gore/torture; Some people may have this fetish but are ashamed or afraid of it that they bury it down deep in themselves.
By not acknowledging this, their inner monster can take over without them knowing it and force them to do this horribly horrible thing. They wont feel regret because they didn’t know what drove them to it, but they do know it wasn’t their conciousness.

But they weren’t hiding it; he said that they posted it on facebook and were actively doing… God, I don’t even want to think about that.

Yeah, this doesn’t sound right at all. I’d say the people who are ashamed of such a thing atleast acknowledge that it is wrong and immoral. Unlike the ones who openly enjoy it.
