I’d have to guess that, if they’re still maintaining their server to allow downloads (and, as they mentioned, keeping their record of accounts), then they’re not actually shutting down. They didn’t actually say they were closing – just that they couldn’t continue in their “current form”.
So, yeah, I’d expect to see them relaunch later this week (after the ‘announcement’), maybe with some sort of download-and-launch software for the games, similar to Steam.
https://www.gog.com says that they’re relaunching with a rather large revamp tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM EST.
its the same fucker responsible for similar stunts in advertising form my country, he already pulled this shit few times, who the hell still hires that guy, he works at cd projekt form what i remember …
Wow. What a dumb stunt. I’m not sure I sympathize with this site anymore.
I don’t quite like what they did, interrupting service and all, but the lure of old games (most of which are unavailable on steam) is what keeps me a member of their community.
Guys you are forgetting BALDUR’S GATE is being rereleased by them guys this is THE BEST NEWS quite literally THE BEST NEWS
Well, I suppose Planescape Torment might be the actual best news, but I’m not choosy.
the best news would be a hd version of torment, its the best rpg game of all times after all ;f
Now that it’s back up, i need to check out the games.
