No, it really is. When she gives you her number, she definitely wants you.
If you need to ask, sure you’ll get it, but you didn’t make a good enough impression for her to give it up herself.
No, it’s definitely not. A girl won’t always give you her number if she likes you, sometimes you DO need to ask because she doesn’t want to make the first move.

OK so my best friend just told me she was in love with me. this seems great but unfortunately she is with someone now. to me I’m like WTF why tell me this now. We’ve been friends for 5 years so I’m guessing these are not new feelings why would she not have made a move until now.
