Now you know. Chemical toilets.
Those things would just peck the shit out of you so you couldn’t use it.
It’s a Danger Portta-Potty. Use it at your own risk.
Guh, the puns… :S
Although getting pecked that way might make you feel very violated.
Actually, those Ghostbusters grabs remind me of the Hell levels in DOOM III… except not so… [COLOR=‘Red’]RED.
I was thinking that exact thing. O_o
Zeno Clash and Psychonauts are also good example of Xen done right.
Those screenshots remind me of the extra-dimensional bits in Clive Barker’s Undying.

Aha! Indeed.
It’d be interesting if there were bits of Black Mesa’s architecture poking up through the floor in Xen - similar to Hell in Doom, where it was fused with modern technology.
It makes sense because there has been a rift in space-time, has there not?
it does. play the half life xen levels. youll see that there is plenty of room for them.
your right. all sorts of stuff has been teleported from xen to earth, (aliens, aliens, some xen foliage, and more aliens) so why shouldnt stuff from black mesa be teleported to xen?
Holy fuck. EPIC necropost!
Because there’s no evidence that it happens the other way around.
has this thread even been at page 2 yet?
Necro my ass! oh wait that didn’t come out right. you know what I mean…
You just replied to a two month old post made by a member who has been permanently banned (as it says clearly under his username on the post you quoted) in a thread that had long died, and then to top it off you double posted. [COLOR=‘Red’]Don’t do any of that again, please.
And the rest of you, if you have nothing on topic to say, don’t post.
Let’s not forget; Gabe’s favorite game of all time is Mario 64.
EDIT: Platform style gameplay (e.g. jumping puzzles and the like) can be done properly, and be fun. Xen is defined by that kind of movement and exploration, even if the particular implementation in Half Life was irritating. In my opinion, that kind of gameplay should be preserved as best as possible.
I never really cared too much about the platforming element in the first place. In fact, I didn’t even notice it until I registered here.
Oh, Hell yeah.
Edit:
I think another good Xen-like setting was the Valley of Corrupted Gravity from “The Legend of Dragoon”
