Ok, the gonarch looks epic. Instead of looking like a giant squishy headcrab with a ballsack, it now looks like a giant armored tank with an eggsack. And man I can’t wait to fight it.

I actually found two models of it in the game with all it’s animations included albeit untextured.

This model apparently shows that the Gonarch will show a different model when low on health.

Holy crap! Anyone wanna catch me up on what I missed? I don’t have a whole lot of free time for reading through the good news/bad news thread.

beta branch dropped today, has a lot of new things hidden in it for us to data mine. some of it good some of it meh. hell there are a few maps that seem to just exist as lighting tests. and somejust crash the game if you load them which means xen props which are not in the game.

Actually there are plenty of xen props under the props_equipment and props_rocks folder. Also

The protozoan from the intro of the original is here fully animated along with a variant without the nucleus. Strangely this one is fully textured while the rest are untextured.

Just as a clarification, missing models shouldn’t be the thing to cause a crash. It used to in goldsource (or if they weren’t pre-loaded when the map tried to access them), but nowadays that’d just result in a bunch of floating "ERROR"s. It’s probably code-related.

wonder if there are any new zombie types for xen.
