It’s a karma thing. They start things like this “out of fun”, they think it’s cool to use f-word in place of a sentence separator, and for a time, it is good.
The result? All potentially useful threads here are useless, because for every useful post in them, there’s like 5 pages of crap produced by the very same people who find “fuckstick” to be a proper way of addressing someone who disagrees. So, all who want to “keep up”, then have to bash through heaps of bullshit. You’d think that if a thread like “Minor suggestions” (which is actually not named “Minor suggestions”, as wise people would name it, but it’s named “It’s all in the detail”, as if that didn’t violate all recommendations on proper thread naming) has 10 new PAGES (x20 posts) in 24 hours, it would be filled to the top with useful suggestions, right? Wrong! There’s one suggestion (“Make nurses with boobies”), and then there’s 75 posts “No!”, “Fucktard!”, “Moron!”, “Just die already kthxbai”, and the most useful post of them all usually comes from the great Lead designer herself: “About seven”.
So, as I said - it’s a karma thing. I’m a frequent user on TMX (tm-exchange.com), where vulgarity and aggresion is very frowned upon. As a result, if someone makes the mistake of writing something stupid, in 95% of cases he gets a mild response explaining what the flaw of the thing he said is, and that’s it, not the dozens of mocking or aggresive posts seen here. Yep, TMX - same size of staff, much different results.

I don’t see how people can say one community is better then another. Yes we troll pretty fuckin’ hard here, but that kind of thing is fun, we enjoy it and much hilarity ensues. Serious stuff does happen here, just in smaller doses then his TMX site. I’m on other forums, that I don’t troll, don’t make fun of idiots, and I’m a pretty good user, but here I don’t give a shit about the idiots who make a shitty thread, and I call them out on it.
