Well… thanks for that ballsopt - Most kind.
I downloaded the Valve pack on steam, and am wondering where to start - Half-Life 1, 2 sorce, etc…
Any suggustions to be able to get a good over all feel for the bigger picture of the series?
Cheers

Half-Life and Half-Life: Source are the exact same game, except that Half-Life: Source has been ported to the Source engine (hence the title). You can take your pick of those.
Just play 'em in order!

So how bout them daydream suggestions?
Self shadowing. Everywhere. :jizz:
Osprey wreckage with detail on par with L4D’s plane crash.
Skaevola, Thanks for that. Good call. I will do that in fact.
As for the daydreams - other than an in game visit from the Swedish Model Massage team, not too sure really… Just getting set to kick the tires and see what Half-life has to offer.
Thanks again for clue
Cheers
Clearly, you have had too much sugar today…
Take a look at what thread you’re posting in.
also, double-post
/Off-topic
Yes… Features and details that you would like to see in game - Day Dream suggestion thread - Got it.
I am sorry if I am off topic somewhat. I will try to track a bit better.
(If the ninjas were cute… Why not?)
Pardon my clumsy entrance to the site Ballsopt - (Nothing wrong with a few insult volleys - just for LOLs)
It’s a Rite of Passage for cockroaches. Joining the BM forums is like joining a fraternity, except lonelier and angrier.
Also, double-posts will get you hanged.
Double post?
Dear me I am new…
I am not quite tracking… What double post?
As in, over quoting I take it?
(I do try, but once you hit 43, it is a slowly descending spiral to the depths…)
“The Gospel according to Skaevola, Chapter One, Verse One: “Shut Up!””
Ummm if this is the Gospel, then the opener for Gen 1:1 must be stellar…
LoL
You just double posted right there. Skaevola can read the future.
and that would be a double-post. You should edit your original post rather than making a new one in succession.
Also, I suggest you read the forum FAQ before posting further.
EDIT: ninja’d
Thanks for the help folks.
I surely did mess the bed.
I will endeavor to be a good cockroach
And the devs thought we wouldn’t mind not being able to squish them.
looks at own post count
Hey! Not all cockroaches are bad
So, on to the topic…
I’d love to see just about everything be destructible in some way, shape or form. Such as every organic being gibbable with it’s own bloody chunks and separately removable body parts. Chunks of plaster/tiles able to be smashed and/or blown off the walls and ceilings. “Unbreakable” glass that eventually crumbles into a million pieces if hit with something hard enough, but leaves the security mesh stuff behind so as to remain impassable (if circumstance requires the player not to enter that area, that is). Hand rails and pipes that take damage and bend under extreme abuse. Vehicles with tires that pop when shot and smashable windows and lights; body work that takes damage when smashed and parts that fly off when hit with explosives…
Oh, and it might get annoying after a few times, but I think it’d be kind of cool if your ears would get that ringing noise when you fired a weapon in cramped quarters (like a vent - yes, I got that from Freeman’s Mind). Like the ringing you get when something explodes next to you, but less intense and maybe only lasts half the time.
I’d love to see more things break and collapse, like entire buildings. Of course that wouldn’t fit in with this game, and so it will remain a day dream.
Ah, that does make more sense.
daydream additions - mirrors edge parkour style movement… a ‘driving a joop’ section…
Soldier corners you after you escape the compacter. Then he gets impaled by a vortiguant’s stab, he turns and empties his magazine (and the last of his ammo) into the vort as he collapses to the floor and dies.
Vort dies too.
A multiplayer gamemode called assasin hunt (yeah yeah predator rip. got it)
you wold have a certain amount of assasins depending on the amount of players, so like if you had three players playing one would be assasin the other would be security. but if you had six people playing, 2 would be assassins and so on.
assasins could move faster, fall greater distance without taking damage and would be cloaked when standing still, while security would only start with pistols and could find other weapons around the map.
That’s actually a good idea. I wouldn’t mind seeing that in play.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
