Community Update

This NEEDS*** to be on steam greenlight!

Congratulations guys, even all those years ago when I stopped working with you guys I knew you’d get to a release eventually!

Looking forward to playing it properly.

Oh yeah! 6 years of wait finally coming to an end, feels good. I bet it feels even better for you guys. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Is it going to be patched in at a later time or is it going to be a standalone chapter?

You can try, but I doubt you will resist the temptation to play this sweet mod :stuck_out_tongue:

Awesome! :freeman:

Been a long time in the making, but glad it’s finally here.

Even though I really wish I could finish the game in one sitting, this is an amazing accomplishment for the team and I say you should all pat yourselves on the back for bringing this project this far. Crazy to think that I’ve been following this mod since I was 18, where have the years gone? I bet you all feel the same way.

Finally! I nearly forgot about my account here.

Thanks you guys, thank you!

yes 1111111

woow I can’t believe  you are the best!!!

My man… thank you for this great news! You gave (heart)blood, sweat and tears into this project and the graditude of the community, including mine, will overwhelm you. Even that Xen and BMDM is missing… it wont make BM an unfinished game. Then we can play and have something new to be excited of!

Thank you and your awesome developing team for your dedication!
You are the people that make good games. Other “companies” should be impressed by your work. Even more because you´re not a company, but hobby developers!

Amazing News Guys! Thanks

Unsuspectingly went to https://www.blackmesasource.com today, like I’ve been doing daily for the past few years… what a nice surprise!

First and foremost I want to congratulate all developers with this awesome achievement. You have created something for free, that by a game publisher’s standards has a very high value, with no basis greater than your own vision and passion. This is something to be very proud of. And I’m sure the community is proud with you.

Secondly I would like you thank you. Assuming you guys aren’t trolling (heh heh); in roughly 12 days you will have given us something that a professional game company could not or would not make: a proper remake of Half-Life.

I haven’t played the game yet, naturally, nor have I watched the recently leaked gameplay video, but I’m sure that in terms of quality Black Mesa at the very least equals games that professional studios produce. And your passion and creativity seems to rival that of Valve themselves. Heck, you guys have even got the Valve Time concept nailed with the 2009 2012 release!

I am very happy to see this project come to a successful conclusion and I’m very proud of you all.

Put this on Greenlight please so steam can add it!

On topic: Finally, I want to congratulate you guys on your effort paying off and I also want to apologize for all the cynical and rude posts. Thank you for making this and I hope it’s worth the wait! happy panda

This is simultaneously good and bad.

Xen is released separately, well, damn.
However, it is released a day after my birthday, thanks for the present.
However, it is released a couple of days after I go back to college (UK), and I have lots of coursework to do.

I’ve been watching this project for a few years and registered just to say…

Good Stuff!!!

However, I would also rather wait for Xen to be complete before I play black mesa…

I’m gonna cry when I finish the game… :frowning:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
