Falling through the ground is almost a GTA tradition
computer AIDS are everywhere. go and buy your extreme ulimate condoms do it now before its too late.
I did it in GTA3 now an then when the disk read got slow (PS2).
Did it in Vice City like, every time I booted the game up (PS2).
I did it in San Andreas like every fuckign second, I also drove through random walls, posts and buildings (PS2).
Done it in GTA4 now and then, but only when hectic shit was going down and I was driving insanely fast (PC).
It only happened to me when I was trying to jump on a shitload of cars. Suddently I’d fall between two, and then I’d fall through the ground.
That seems to be a worryingly common problem in games. Even happened in Fable 2, and you can’t even jump in that game. Just proves how shit it is, I suppose.
I was driving a bike in Vice City, hit a low wall and was flung through the door of a police station. The loading screen came up and the caption read “Trucker HQ”. Eventually a strange sight came into view. I had appeared to have entered a strange mash of different interiors, including the locker room from the police station, the fountain from the mall, several wall textures and random black abyss. The only occupants of this strange land where marauding groups of bikies.
I wandered aimlessly and walked into the police lockers, getting a 3 star wanted level. No police actually showed up though, so I decided to simply gun down all the bikies. With everyone dead and nothing to do I simply reset the console.
Falling through the ground? Pffft, I’ve been to the GTA Twilight Zone.
Hmm, from your guys’ stories I guess it’s weird that I’ve never fell through the ground or anything like that in any GTA game.
Has anyone here fallen through the ground in RL? That’s some scary shit.

That, Is the first and only time I’ve fallen through the ground in any GTA game.
And infact, my only major glitch after 30+ hours of GTA4. Aside from the odd police car getting stuck in scenery.

You can get some great glitches in the GTA games. Especially if you use a bunch of those crazy cheats they had in the previous games and then save.
