there are some minor bugs in office complex. first, I dont consider the magnum guard not shooting as a bug with the chapter, but rather a bug with the npcs.

  • when you jump out of the vent leaving the freezer room in c1a2c and meet the scientist that got startled and the guard tending to his fallen buddy, the guard gets out of his kneeling animation early and stands there, then jerks back down, then gets up again when speaking his lines, a small choreo bug

  • this isn’t really a bug, but in the same map when you jump across the elevator shaft to the ladder with the hanging scientist, its actually possible to jump down to the bottom with full health, (from the hallway of course) and still survive with around 11 or 18 hp. I would add something like a trigger hurt at the bottom so the player cant run around down there

NPCs also seem to be immune to explosions and beams at least on that map (they still flinch though) but bullets still kill them (at least the shotgun).
The charging animation (the liquids) on both health and suit power is not smooth (this one happens in the new saves as well).

Has anyone else been able to replicate the Zombie Hands bug on the Public Beta branch?

I just opted into the beta to see if it would fix the zombie hands, but they’re still messed up. Restarting Surface Tension isn’t really an option considering I’m trying to do the Rare Specimen achievement…

Just restart the chapter BUT, type “prop_physics_create props_junk/tomabasarab_quaff.mdl” then put your cursor over the hat and then type “ent_setname quaff” and you’ll have a perfect replica hat that will count for the achievement.

Beta bug: In “We’ve got hostiles!”, the first headcrab that teleports in the chapter won’t attack me, he’ll just waddle away from me and stand still, and getting close doesn’t help.

That bug has been happening even before the update.

weird, i could of sworn he fought back at me in the release build, or maybe ive just never gave him a chance.

The beta is designed to verify the fixes for the specific bugs it’s noted as addressing, and make sure we didn’t break anything additional. Any other bugs should be reported in the usual place - i.e. not here.

The beta build has been pushed to all clients. Any bugs, please report to the appropriate forums.

i tried to download beta version on steam but it wasnt beta after all and i can’t find it anywhere? i still get old version on steam so??

The beta no longer exists. All changes made in that version have already been rolled into the Retail version.

As Joe said above, the beta build has been pushed to all clients, so there is currently not a public beta. Once the next patch is ready for beta testing, you will find it on there, and we will also let everyone know beforehand.

well is this on steam or free version? since i tried steam version and found no diffirence? headcrab looks same and one in beta looked bit diffirent to what i saw in my version.

If you got the game for free then it’s the mod version. If not, it’s the game/standalone one.

Aside from a couple of improvements and Multiplayer, it’s pretty much the same game/mod/whatever.

And these patches are for the game.

and yes i got steam version still no diffirence towards changes from pic url that was taken durring beta.

That’s interesting, are you sure you’re not using custom content (skins, textures, and so on)?

Pretty damn sure that the headcrab is supposed to be the default one from HL2.

well not me but user who posted url in first place must of used mod since he showed pic of beta with headcrab like that already so yeah thats what i dont understand either???

that’s my client. I installed some skins for the headcrabs and barnacles. The skins also work on the beta version which is cool.

But anyway, everyone should be seeing the default headcrab when they boot up the beta, unless they have skins installed
