Yeah, I’ll cast my lot here. Essentially, while it might be “cool” and amusing to do what the original poster suggested, the premise behind his stated reasoning is completely flawed. Replacing antlions and striders and combine with bullsquid, gargantua and hecu wouldn’t make HL2 consistent with HL1 at all, it would just cause the storyline of HL2 make no sense at all.
So? would it be fun to play? If the answer is “Yes”, than it should be done just for the hell of it. Why does everything have to make sense all the time?
bullsquid = Canals, Garg= erm…, Vort = Good guy, Agrunt= coast, etc, etc…
So you’re saying that you wanna replace canals with bullsquids and coasts with Agrunts? :retard:
Hell yea.
Route BullTentacles and AGruntArmorHighway17 ftw
Mind = Blown
It would be fun for 20 minutes…
Now I’m suddenly saddened Route Kanal lacked bullsquids.
Fix it
though I think I know why they weren’t there originally - - it’d be blasphemy to run over a bullsquid with the mudskipper. It’d be like a limitless force acting on an infinite mass, causing a divide-by-zero.
Metrocops: Barneys
Citizen: Scientist
Rebel: alien Slave
Ant lion: Houndeye
Manhacks: more houndeyes
Strider: Gonarch
Rollermine: Bullsquid (with a number of entities added throughout Route Kanal, and on along the beach)
Combine elite: female Assassin
Fast zombie: more female Assassins
Fast headcrab: alien Controller
Poison zombie: Xen-tree
Poison headcrab: alien Grunt
Helicopter: Apache
Gunship: more Apache
Dropship: Osprey
It seems obvious in posispect!!!
No offense but this is a very bad idea.
Indeed, a few bullsquids here and there would suffice though.
They did code them in, after all.
At least, I think all the code for a working bullsquid is there…
hey guise, i think i shud maek an who nother mod based out of a thread on the black mesa forums, liek i did with hl2:goldsrc. lolololol
unlike your thread, this thread is actually relevant to Black Mesa
You can do that sh*t in GARRYS MOD!
except then you have to play garry’s mod
Wasn’t my thread, champ.
On topic, I think this would prove to be an interesting idea and I’d play it.
Heh, it would take some effort, but it would be helluva fun to see! I think I read something about them having put Bullsquid into HL2 in the early stages (hence Eli’s missing leg) but did they really leave the coding in?
Just copy all the content from BM (and rename if necessary) to the correct HL2 folder, and there you have it. More or less.
