Black Mesa Deathmatch: BMDM

With my computer how so? pretty sure 2 9800 GT’s and a quad core should run source fine? never had any slow downs running any source game at absolute max.

Perhaps my words were a bit strong  the guns also seem to “handle” poorly, the movement seems imprecise, those 3 things pretty much ruin it for me. I have tried repeatedly to get into it and go back to it every 6 months or so hoping I missed something the previous times. I love the HL universe and really wish there was a multiplayer experience I could enjoy, but HL2DM seemingly isn’t it!

Are you downloading things while playing? Because if you have a low ping it shouldn’t lag.

Running the same setup i believe and hl2dm runs fine on my computer.

Then again, since valve stopped support for the game back in 06 ish it’s kinda gone down hill.

Edit: Do you have SLI enabled ?

I was addicted to HL2DM. I had no problem at all. Its something work with steam or your comp as the one guy said.

HL2DM was unreasonably simple. It seemed badly rushed to me.

I have to say, though. Smacking people with sinks and barrels are fun as hell.

QFT!

I’ve never played HL2  M but it seems to be a lot like HL:S, a low-budget game port from one form to another (in this case, from a singleplayer game to a multiplayer deathmatch).

Played a fair bit of HL2DM and you are correct about the laggy netcode regardless of latency or PC power. The update to the Goldbox ep2 engine has fixed this somewhat though not officially released and I doubt it will be - Its in the SDK.

Huh! I had no lag and I have an good PC!.

Tell these guys that then

Hurricane bot may work in BMS Deathmatch. I hope so.
Yes, many people think bots are suck. But they are so stupid and funny…especially, bots have no ping :stuck_out_tongue:

Any chance of getting the dedicated server files before release? Would love to have a server ready

Bots should be easier to implement than the ones available for HL2DM.

Your problem is probably virus/spyware/ram

I have the same issue, I think getting more ram would fix it. Because I’d get good ping, it’d be smooth sometimes but then I’d get random slowdown.

Don’t say it has crappy maps and then say you play killbox.

Anyway, you just need to learn how to move, then you’ll change your mind.

I’m going to port the hl2dm maps to BM so the maps are better even though they still aren’t great. I did it with HLDMS and it was more fun that way.

Hmm, I’m thinking about whether or not I should convert my tf2 server into a bmdm server. I suppose I might wanna do this after I have actually played it.

The greatest HL1 Multiplayer Mod around:
“Half-Life: Adrenaline Gamer”

Best game modes, best matchmaking…
Best competition…

Btw there are still active leagues for that mod (ESL Europe, Elite Half-Life League)

You should check it out on a lan party… On the internet there are only hardcore hl1 gamers left playing it… As a player who is new to that game, you will get your ass kicked

download it here:
https://ftp.wireplay.co.uk/pub/halflife/mods/adrenalinegamer/patches/win32/ag_66.exe

I still play it. ((:
…and if black mesa deathmatch won’t be a competitive game I will continue playing AG.
So please dev team… take the aspect of competition into consideration while developing the Deathmatch mode… Building in a matchmaking-system WILL bring a long time playing motivation… (Spectator mode, voting system… etc. )

(Doublecross and stalkx are ag maps… As well as many other well played maps…)

Thanks, adbot! Now what can you offer me for my penis?

vague promises and hopes of a better tomorrow , just like obama

It shouldn’t take much to adapt sourcemod or even a mod like mani with BMDM. Having server side mods would be much simpler and accepted (no extra downloads), something that HL2DM Pro should have looked into.

HL1DM is awesome…the only gripe I have is the power of the Gluon Gun.

HL2DM sucks in comparison

What’s the real difference besides the community, the gravity gun, and lack of longjump?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
