Black Mesa Classic Weapons

News guys? The last reply was 4 months ago, and this static is unnerving, especially when the pack looks this good

Also, if this does actually has a release plan, are we getting zombiemans animations as a separate pack?
EDIT2: The discussion is going on in a different website now, link is here.

Yeah, Knockout is definitely a good place to post if someone wants more frequent updates on the pack or has quick questions for me. It’s also a good site in general, really. Lots of friendly folks.
I’ll post the gif I put there:

classic weapons when ?

I have a kind of dumb question: will the item pickup icons be remade as well?

I’m loving your new weapons and ammo hud elements, but consistency wise the old battery, health kit and longjump module icons are a bit dated.

I think it would be a neat touch.

Also one last thing, does the hivehand have it’s own ammo icon now?

Been a while since the last update, both here and on knockout. Anything new happened in the development of the weapon pack?

FoolTaurus has the MP5 and Tau Cannon animations finished, with the Glock 90% done and the Shotgun on the way. After that he’s planning on doing the 357, I believe. He also fixed up the reloads for the 357 and the Crossbow and made a few various tweaks to other miscellaneous sequences.

Meanwhile Game Zombie and I have been working on getting the materials on the arms up-to-snuff with the rest of the pack, as you probably saw above.

Looks beautiful and well crafted.

Will the mod also replace orange color tint for other HEV suits to fit the “classic style” for hands? (HEV suits, HEV scientists, HEV zombies, HEV MP model)

Will the weapons get any slight smudges and scratches as wear & tear?

My only complaint would be that for Tau canon it feels weird to hold it with only one hand for such long time to inspect it. For the gun that could have around 5 kg, it would be hard to hold it like that. I would put both hands to hold it immediately after rolling the rotor and slightly point gun down while holding it in one hand.

No, we’re not replacing the HEV world model. I believe Cryoshell started work on a remake for it, though.

The weapons all have slight wear and tear, yes. They mostly only show in high light or dark areas.

The Tau Cannon was actually held in one hand in Half-Life 1. Bit of a copout to say, but we actually did it the same way for GZ’s animations.

Only found out about this a month ago, love the progress though! I really appreciate how faithful the MP5 animations are, it even has that odd shake included in the idle animation which to me always looked like an unused reload that got recycled and edited.

Can’t wait to see the shotgun, the LD animations are a great little thing, especially the refined version from the Gearbox expansions. The Tau Cannon animations look a little far out and suffer from “Baby arms” but this is a minor nitpick, just grateful a pack like this is in the works to begin with

Hey, with the forums shutting down and all, where else can we monitor the progress of this?

Any updates mate? I’m really looking forward to playing with this.

Not a whole lot to share currently. Zombie and Taurus have both been super busy with real life stuff and work for other projects for the last week or so. I’ve been working on things for another sourcemod, but I’m going to be hammering out the materials for the rocket ammo crate soon.

Rendered in a different engine, lighting looks much better in-game
