Black Mesa 2009 Update

That’s… weird  .

But when you think about it kind of does make sence. “Normal” game developers never release totally-finished-bug-free-applications.

On the other hand they have to know when they’ll finish, otherwise release dates wouldn’t exist. I’ve read that they have/will have some sort of beta testing team (most likely “HL pros” ) so why not let them check the current progress? Just to shut our annoying mouths ;P.

If anything, they should get people who are anything but “HL Pros.”

I ment people who love this game and know A LOT about it so that they would know what works as it should…

Man, I hope Black Mesa comes out soon. A lot of the forum regulars seem to be going quite strange.

Like a Rocket Jump?

Too much Quake, man  .

You complain about the lack of information, yet at the same time you say you didn’t care to read through this thread or the wiki.

Because if you skim through this thread, many of the developers have said interesting things about their progress status.
Additionally, the wiki is a great source of information regarding how much of the work has already been done.

Also, stating the percentage of completion at this point (or at any point in the development of a product) could be worth nothing. I know of projects (of mine) that were sitting idle for a year or more, although they were above 90% completed.

How exactly do you propose they calculate a percentage? And they’re working on everything at once, basically. They’re not doing the maps first and then the models, or something like that.

Hey, I’m not complaining, I’m just asking. And I’ve read the wiki… A bit later but I did ;P.

Sometimes it’s better to ask directly than read 82 pages of which probably ~80-90% is pure spam (like most of the threads here  ).

90% is a lot, so is the remaining 10%. If it was 80-90% then everybody would cool off a bit and keep waiting. On the other hand if it was ~95% then most of us would probably get excited as hell and probably start posting like “how much longeeeeeer???”. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
But how different would it be from where we’re right now  .

Burbinator, it doesn’t need to be acurate. If a person goes through the whole game then he/she’ll know if it was ok or buggy/not ready.

I cant help but read what you say with a kermit voice.

I do not find it that bad that ythe game isn’t out yet still sad dooooo…:’(

Pigs Per Day :retard:

[COLOR=‘Red’]I’ve cleaned up the last few pages of this thread. Keep on topic or keep away.

Well, I figured Black Mesa would be out by now. There was no way they were making 2009.

Ummm, what is the topic exactly?

Black Mesa 2009 Update
as per the thread title.

^ lol it’s amazing how people who can’t read can still sometimes accedentally sign up on forums.

On topic: three weeks. that’s my 'ficial estimate.

Well, to tide me over, I know that I’m getting a brand new car in 8 weeks time. If the mod comes out before or just after then, I would be pretty damn happy.

It is possible to do a rocket jump in HL Deathmatch, however I wouldnt reccomend it, as it does more than 100 damage and sends you up about 5 meters. Totally not worth it.

We’ve gotta be getting close now, man… the wiki pictures have started to say “final version” in their captions. They’ve never said that before, even of the stuff we were pretty sure was the final version! It’s gotta be close.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
