As I skimmed most black mesa related media over the past few weeks, it came to my attention that, in some way or another, there were always two groups of people commenting; the whiners and the flamers. This struck me as odd, as there surely isn’t a need to bash each other over the head with metaphorical crowbars. I do not wish to take part in either faction, as though I feel no need to whine, flaming the whiners looks to me as rather useless. Shouldn’t you just ignore the annoyance instead of adressing it? If small children have taught us anything, it is that loud crying will not stop when you address it, but only get louder.

WRONG. If you ignore stupidity, it becomes accepted and grows until you’re surrounded by fucking morons. If you put them in their place and show them the error of their ways, there’s a chance they might learn something from it. Either they learn (if they’re smart enough to understand), or learn to shut up (if they’re dumb as dirt). Either way society has a chance of winning. Ignoring problems and other peoples stupidity does not solve anything - often it causes even more problems. Perhaps after you hit puberty and get a little life experience you might start to learn that.
Well, if you think that the way to combat stupidity is to announce and chastise it, I won’t try to change your opinion. I, for one, believe there is no such a thing as true stupidity, in a way, ignorance, a desire to annoy, yes, but not stupidity. If what you are fighting is ignorance, you words best be kind, for the ignorant is to pity, not to blame. If you are fighting a user with a pure desire to annoy or anger, no amount of flaming will solve the problem, but only make the user smile as he comments on YOUR stupidity in his mind.
