Ask a Chinese

*Subtitles: OUR “FREEDOM” IS MUCH BETTER THAN YOUR “FREEDOM”!!!11!

Is it true that all Chinamen know kung fu?

  1. Where in China do you live?
  2. How is Taiwan viewed by the majority of the Chinese populace?
  3. Why does the term ‘oriental’ offend Asians?
  4. Why do I find oriental women so attractive? oops…I meant Asian

Rice, noodle. Both.

I would prefer most Hokken food that came from Taiwan since it is very common in Malaysia.

Nah.

1)I live in Malaysia but my family came from KuangDung before the WWII.
2)From what I see, Many Taiwanese call Chinese from China “Mainland dog”.
3)No sure why, since “rice loving chink” doesn’t offense me.
4) Because they have some sort of charm?

What is a China?

How do you feel about North Korea? What is the general consensus about NK?

What is your favorite school subject?

China, one of the largest country in Eastern part of the world.

All I can think of is that they are poor country.

None, wait. English.

Is it true that all Chinamen have ancient magical powers and can see deep into your soul?

Yes, they have the ability to make you laugh as they stare into your eyes

How long is your pants snake, as you chinese people like to call it

Please illustrate: Accessing what kind of content makes you more free than the Chinese guy surfing the internet?

I’m surprised there are people that don’t know about this.

No need to get all emotional on me Mary. Just saying that you and me should clean up our own yard (start by clicking on the word ‘demented’ in the quote), and once we are done the Chinese will have solved their problems as well. They sure as shit don’t need help from the outside to fight their Communist-Party Plutocracies. As much as we don’t need their help fighting our Capitalist-“Democracy” Plutocracies.

The whole China-is-not-free-shit would be very nice and is partly true, if the West would not 1. CONSTANTLY use it as a means to underline it’s own alleged freedom-simulacra, and 2. not CONSTANTLY support the oppression of the Chinese people by dubious exploitation of China’s cheap workforce.

Meaning, if you REALLY want to free the Chinese people: stop buying electronics produced in mainland China. Capisce?

How can you even see with your eyes closed like that? Has this affected your life/any other gooks?

What would happen if you approached a Chinese cop and you told him a two word sentence that combines the words “Tibet” and “Free”?

First of all we were comparing China’s censorship to Australias and not “other countries”. While I admit that Fongs point may seem weak and censoring video games is not directly comparable to censoring newspapers (although it really depends on how important you think newspapers are), it does not mean you may feel all smug seeing as Australia has it’s own censorship issues. READ the link. Did you know about this? There are dozens of articles like these on the web.

The problem is that people like you always claim other governments are more repressive than theirs, while Australia does not even have a Law protecting the Freedom of Speech.

Conclusion: Australia’s laws on Internet censorship are amongst the most restrictive in the Western world although they are not being enforced to the full, yet. But censorship is a growing problem. So I politely propose you take care of your own censorships first. Because everything else makes you look like you don’t know what’s going on in your country.

Peace out.

Well Stephen Conroy is trying to clamp down on your Pornz!
Looking at the list of websites which Conroy wishes to ban under the Ozzy firewall it’s really no different to what China has done. It doesn’t just ban porn, but also many other sites which may prove ‘controversial’.

So say goodbye to your interwebz games!
The internet controls have been attacked by most civilized Western countries with the US calling it a “Danger to the Freedom of Speech”.

Actually, having lived in China for quite a while I can say that the censorship isn’t a huuuge problem. OH NOEZ! I CANT GET ON FACEBOOK.
Some sad fucks really do get crazy about not being able to check their facebook, but I didn’t really miss it. I found a free proxy and checked it every now and again.
Occasionally the strangest things are blocked, such as the occasional website about dinosaurs.

I’ve seen many websites where there are healthy debates going on which included criticism of the government.
So while there is no doubt over freedom of speech being restricted in China it’s probably not quite as bad as it’s made out to be. In day to day life most people are fairly open with their criticisms towards the government. There are frequent protests and ‘sometimes’ they are reported in news papers.
There are frequently editorials in the papers which criticize the government, but obviously it is a very controlled criticism.
You often see articles which have “with contributions by the Xinhua News Agency”. This basically means that parts of the article were deemed ‘inappropriate’ and edited. Xinhua = government.

Porn isn’t blocked, so they’ll soon be freer than Ozland when Conroy bans the internet.

With respect to “Foreign News Sites are banned”. Yes and no.
The system appears to be somewhat random with some papers being banned but not others.
I was able to access all British news sites (BBC, Times, Guardian, Observer…etc) and even read articles which were critical of China.
I know that the German site Deutsche Welle was blocked for some reason. I think the New York Times was blocked on and off, but usually it was fine.
So your point isn’t really a point at all.

I assume you got this information from the Wikipedia article, which is unfortunately out of date by some years.
China has relaxed it’s censorship quite a great deal. Blogs are now ok to use again, perhaps with the exception of blogger.com, but livejournal is now unbanned for sure.
Basically, it’s just Facebook and Youtube which are the big name banned sites. Zuckerberg is going to make a deal with the Chinese government to hand over all user information in exchange for the ability to operate there.
But honestly, there are 3 or 4 Chinese Facebooks already in operation, so I don’t know how many Chinese really care about the Western Facebook.
While I was in China I was using https://vkontakte.ru/ which is Russian facebook. Again, I would say that this is a superior version of facebook as it allows you to stream pretty much any song or movie for free. Plus I used it to keep in contact with my Russian friends. So although Russians can use facebook, why would they want to when they have a much cooler version of their own?

In place of youtube they have Youku, Tudou, 56.com and a few others. And honestly, these sites are much better than Youtube as they don’t have the endless amount of retarded DRAGONBALLZMUSICVIDEOs. Plus you can watch full movies on some of them because China doesn’t give a shit about copyright laws. Although before I left I did notice that many of the movies were being taken down. Shame.
Youku also doesn’t have a limit on the length of video, so movies are not split into sections.
Ahhh western people, cannot see past the end of their own nose because they believe to already have the most perfect face.
Why bother checking out Youku? Youtube is western and therefore perfect and the best option around.

I am not sure who are you asking, but I am answer anyway. Not at all.

As long as I live, I never saw a single chinese cop in Malaysia.

I get the feeling that you may be unable to answer some of their questions.

Especially when they start asking things like “How easy is it to sneak into Tibet”.

Actually, I have a question;

Is there any friction between native Malaysians and Chinese Malaysians?
I know in Japan the Chinese and Koreans living there have it tough. Even those who are 3rd or 4th generation are still discriminated against.
