Iām guessing from here the ARG continues/reboots in the commercial release. One of the first pictures someone (presumably a dev) has posted to the community is a portrait of Dr. Welsh.
I think if anyone has the steam release (I havenāt yet: Iām saving up unfortunately) then could they possibly check under the stairs in QE in the room that had the TV and the headcrab zombie in it, and in Unforseen Consequences? I think these areas are most likely to have new stuff in them. Maybe in Dr. Hornās shack as well
Release has second emergency message transmitted trough radio in the beginning of office complex. Listening to it for some time causes two zombies to spawn and attack you
Thereās an explicit reference to āDr. Horns AI thingā on one of the AM whiteboards, was that always there? Have i misunderstood or was the nature of his project (being an AI) not secret after all (i thought the plot was that they were using the Tau Cannon project to funnel the Nirobium to the secret-nature HALOS project)?
Iām seeing those satellite/birds-eye photos of the airstrip EVERYWHERE now. Like every chapter has them hanging somewhere, included in the break room in AM. IIRC they were previously just in Dr. Horns shack?
As MAXGEAR said the EAS (although I thought it was the first? should maybe go and listen again more closely) now plays in office complex. Perhaps related, there does not seem to be any military radios for you to listen in on, any more (which sucks), so maybe there are now (more) EAS radios instead?
G-Man bleeds. Probably just an oversight?
edit: Went back to examine the Office Complex EAS radio more closely, itās interestingly the generic HL2 resistance radio. One of relatively few hold-over assets that Iāve noticed. Actually, the only other one i can really think of is the generic actuating door-handle. AFAIK EVERYTHING else is replaced with a new unique asset.
So, to those with the funds to actually buy the game right now (read: not me):
Nothing new in the shack?
Nothing new under the stairs?
Still nothing where X01 / X02 are supposed to be? (noclip if you have to?) @EMUGOD: The satellite photos were spread around the game before this release - I know because I played the mod well after reading through most of this topic. Pretty sure I took some screenshots of several of the locations, too. Pretty sure the āAI thingā reference was also there.
Additional question: did they release the custom modding tools they mentioned we (or, well, those buying the game) would get yet? It might help us find more stuff.
