[ARG] The Pizza Code Mystery

If anyone finds anything on whiteboards that suggest Q or E equal a specific number, please let me know. Thanks!

Yeah, exactly.

Saw a mention of ā€œlambda Complex Lower sectionā€ etc. etc. on the whiteboard behind the GMAN in QE, so going through that level now.

So far, came across this corkboard set:

Looks like the letter in the bottom right with the penguin picture might be a nod to the reason behind the Willy Wonka hat. Maybe that was the letter used to try to get hired on the BMS team? Sure looks like it

Itā€™s apparently a joke referring to a failed applicant.

Yeah, I believe thatā€™s the ā€˜Toma Basarabā€™ application.

And who might that be? :retard:

So I was completely ransacking Dr. Hornā€™s weird taco shack in Surface Tension and found this little post-it note on the side of his computer (it was originally against the wall, I think). It looks like it says ā€œOverhead @ 25. (???)ā€

I tried 25.com and itā€™s some weird image / photo site. I donā€™t think the last letters are ā€œcomā€, however, so itā€™s hard to say. Just something I noticed.

Screencap:

EDIT: Maybe it says ā€œOverload @ 25 ampsā€?

Thatā€™s on all of the computers of that model; you can see them in AM too.

No idea what it means though.

Edit: And yeah, Iā€™m pretty sure it says ā€˜25 ampsā€™.

Ahhh okay nevermind then. Looks like Iā€™m back to plugging in prime numbers lol

Then, when someone asked who ā€œ-TBā€ was, the signature on the letter from the main page, pre-launch. Ram answered saying it was Toma Basarab.

This is all unrelated to the topic at hand though.

Interesting. Thanks for answering that off-topic question.

I also had a thought. Has anyone tried gibbing some stuff? I recall that in a video they destroy a prop and get other stuffā€¦ I believe it was used to demonstrate the versatility of the gibbing system.

According to the wiki it also wonā€™t gib under certain circumstances, like being shot with bullets.

An entity will gib if and only if the following conditions apply:

Will never gib if damage type is DMG_NEVERGIB, DMG_DISSOLVE or DMG_BULLET

Will always gib if damage type is DMG_ALWAYSGIB or DMG_BLAST

Will never gib if it does not have the appropriate gib models

If the above conditions do not apply and the entityā€™s health is less than or equal to -20, it will gib

So we should gib the pizza?

Itā€™s simple. We Gib the Pizzaman[/size].

I just tried gibbing the pizza. I also tried taking it down to the furnace before the surgery room. Ya know, because the pizza says itā€™s hotā€¦ but the pizza is a lieā€¦ so its probably coldā€¦ so I went to heat it back up.

But neither of those things workedā€¦ go figure.

I think itā€™s more of which pizza you gib. I am unfortunately unable to test with the game myself but I was planning on going to as many special/hidden locations as possible and bombing the crap out of them. Iā€™ll be able to do it later tonight.

bind MOUSE3 ā€œnoclipā€
(check to see if DMG_ALWAYSGIB works as a console command.)
bind r ā€œimpulse 101ā€
(fly around the game dealing blast damage and looking for unusual results.)

EDIT: Just discovered something with the siteā€™s logo, it is partially transparent! There is a backwards seven with a dash before it, but you donā€™t see it because the URL bar is white! Can anyone find a larger version of the logo the site uses? There is something else showing where the S isā€¦ Perhaps it makes it a 5?

This logo? Iā€™m not seeing anything.

1998 obviouslybecause hl1 came out then. sorry if somebody told you already Iā€™m a few pages behind.

No. The year the game came out has nothing to do with the year the game takes place. One of the big things about Half-Life is that no one really knows exactly when it took place, so to remain somewhat canon and not add dates that are incorrect into the game, the devs obfuscate them everywhere.

Eion Kilant 739 - What on earth are you talking about?

about that pinguin in the shack of dr.horn thereā€™s alot of linux referencesā€¦ that peinguin being hired is one of them maybe Hired means theyā€™re woring on alinux portā€¦ who knows

youā€™re just seeing things
