It isn’t too hard to avoid crap/disgusting stuff if you use the search bar once, and just click from there.

An example;

  1. Search ‘motorsport art’

  2. Clicked the Subaru pencil art image. (It might be different by the time anyone else tries it, or if your not a member).

3.Clicked on the top comment, by ~ActiveDesign, clicked his gallery. OK, I’m not such a fan of the cartoons, but I click one of his images F430 facelift.

  1. Click another guy in the comments. Not much motorsport, but has some awesome images…

Get into the right circles, and even if it’s not exactly waht you initially searched for, most of the shit will be banished, only to be seen when you hit the homepage. And of course a member will be following artists, and only be informed of the stuff he want’s to see. Just doing the example, I faved a few images XD

Needle in a Haystack syndrome doesn’t bother me anymore. :slight_smile:

Also, I realise now, that some might see that as a ‘guide to using a search bar’. Sorry if it sounded condescending.

There is a better website for artists to train and get actual criticism, it’s called concept art.

Yeah, I like Conceptart.org much better than Deviant Art, because people don’t just go and post photos of themselves there. They put real effort and blood into their art, which is what makes it’s community much more unique than that of Deviant Art’s.

I have a DA, though. https://1-1-7.deviantart.com. Nothing stunning, yet, though. I’m trying to increase my skills in concept art, which is why I frequently visit Conceptart.org.

updated…i had a look at conceptart.org. No offense to those who use it but it’s a pretty confusing place. I’m not saying saying that whatever art i saw on it was bad, it was great and just like what you see on DA, but it became pretty confusing while navigating the site. :frowning:

EDIT : Whoa. When you click on ‘Most Viewed’ a lot of nude art pops up, one of them titled “Chicks who draw Chicks”.

No mature content filter here, i guess. :stuck_out_tongue:
