'90's,'00's,and 2010's

the most consistantly good band of the 00’s is breaking benjamin
the 90’s was a decade mostly ruled by grunge but by the later half of it pop was taking over ( sort of like how it is now)
the 80’s was mainly ruled by metal and pop as the most popular genres of that decade
the 70’s had the most glam rock

Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

Actually, Glam Rock was born in the late 80’s. In the early 80’s it was mainly disco.

Oh right, all modern music just came out of nowhere on the first of January, 1950.

There was lots of good music in those decades, especially the 30s and 40s. They were arguably more relevant than say, the 90s, or certainly the 00s.

Breaking Benjamin? Really? They’re okay, I was into them for a little bit too, but they are just another mediocre rock band, and definitely not one that will go down in history the way The Beatles or Led Zeppelin did.

Ugh, greatest 00’s band was some nobody’s that appeared briefly in a shit game and were never heard of again? I think not. I can think of better ones. You sir, suck.

Tool, System of a Down, Metallica, Manowar, Limp Bizkit, Tenacious D, Rammstein. To name but a few in no particular order. All are several orders of magnitude greater, than the crap you just nominated.

@Imonfire: Is that The Big Lebowski?

EDIT: Goddamn ninjas…

well the 40’s had some good music too like the ink spots
40’s music is quite interesting too

I wish the current decade in music had never happened. Dear god its been shit.

limp bizkit? They are ok but not incredible
Rammstein is completely awesome
tenacious D, never really heard much of their music so I can’t have much of a opinion
the rest I have not listened to besides metallica’s enter the sandman

Oh ffs. Enter Sandman has got to be their most done to death song. Fuckin’ Black Album’s got a lot to answer for. Go buy Ride the Lightning.

EDIT: I never said LB were incredible, just better than the crap you mentioned. Really, they’re dire. Man up and listen to some real music.

the kids at my school listen to utter SICKENING music only a minority listen to good rock or metal the rest just listen to shitty pop
this music decade has has consisted of a large number of artists that don’t put the thought or effort to make anything original or worth a second listen

If not for my ninja, you would just have double posted. Also, that comment shows there’s some promise of musical salvation for you. GG.

Quoted for truth.

I don’t even have the time today to name everything that is wrong with that post.

^This. There’s been a lot of shit over the years, and there’s probably more to come. But at least this happened: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20091220/ten-rage-against-the-machine-are-christm-ea4616c.html

@zim: No, just don’t go there. I’m not in the mood for bullshit from people who can’t/won’t appreciate good music, true artistry and satire.

Yup.

Thought it was.

brb, 90s eurodance nostalgia trip

I grew up in 90s Germany, Europop is distilled within me. I cant say that’s a good thing.

Oh man, reminds me of a great song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO9vtRkH5O8

I love music discussion.

When examining decades each has brought more and more to the table. In the 60’s was many diverse forms of music the mods and the hippies, 70’s was the birth of disco and more electronic sounds things like synthesizers were becoming much more mainstream for prog rock and even working its way into most bands we also see the early electronica pioneers like Kraftwerk.

The 80’s brought in the electronic sounds while also giving birth to most of the metal we see fully developed today. 90’s was an odd time for music looking through it all its incredibly diverse from acid-jazz rebirth to grunge’s birth all the way to the electronica scene being developed into a much more mainstream thing. when the 00’s rolled around people wanted something new you can see the blossoming of things like hard-core and screamo. and pop-rock getting much more influenced by the early soul music of the 60’s (I’m talking pop-rock not pop that means Architecture in Helsinki not Lady Gaga).
